This place was recommended to me by a friend. I needed a place I could go to when I just needed a simple haircut without all the bells and whistles and that didn't cost $50+. I made an appt for 10am on a Friday and showed up around 9:40. They were able to see me right away. Staff was sweet and friendly and did a good job. Cost me $25 (not including tip) for the haircut which is super affordable. I'll definitely be back.

I went to Modern Hair Design on Linda Vista Rd. last Friday for a haircut and Eva, the owner, did an AMAZING job!! My hair was so shaggy and badly in need of attention. Eva is very skillful, talented, and experienced, and worked wonders on my hair! I will be going back soon for coloring, which I desperately need. The prices are an excellent value, considering the quality of the haircut. I highly recommend Eva!

I called Modern and spoke to the (owner?) and asked if I could do a walk in. She was very accommodating and said yes (I said I could make it there in 8 mins- I was DESPERATE for a hair cut after a year or two of missing one). When I arrived, they were very welcoming. Darn it, she told me her name and now I'm just being rude bc I forgot...I think it's Linda..I'm trying to recall cuz I know we briefly giggled bc I asked if she was inspired by the city of Linda Vista. Any who, this nice patient lady, bless her soul, really took her time with me. She revealed to me that I was actually their last customer BC it was after closing time! They were still working on one other person...read full review
