I recently bought 2 mini splits; one for my grandson's room who I have on the weekends, and a 2nd unit for the guest room.

The one for the grandson's room has been a God sent because children tend to be 1 degree higher than adults. On these hot spells, it's convenient and saves energy, therefore avoiding use of central air which can be very expensive.
