I came to Hellen for the first time after reading the 5 star reviews. My friend did some chunky highlights that were not the best. She gave me her honest opinion and critically analyzed my hair before starting. I appreciated how much knowledge she had and trusted her when she gave me an idea of what she was going to do. Another special quality was that she works with her daughter whom is also very experienced with hair. They both discussed and came up with similar conclusions. Helen and Katherine are amazing! They are experts in Color Chemistry! They work with you, your hair to see what color is the perfect match, and you won't feel rushed. They also give a great hair cut/style! They are both so pleasant. Gentle washings and brushing hair out is a plus. I have a hair loss issue and they were very sensitive and caring in making me feel comfortable in the salon, assuring privacy by body and chair positioning. They both are wonderful with color and in their technique applying highlights and lowlights. If you are looking for a new salon, or even if you aren't, please try Hair By Helen! You won't be disappointed!

I moved to San Diego and was so scared to find someone who could do platinum well and I was overjoyed I found this place. Helen and her daughter are amazing and very talented! They do my hair perfectly every time! Highly recommend going here! Prices are affordable as well
