About Avian Water and Banh Mi Sandwich
Avian Water and Banh Mi Sandwich offers delicious banh mi sandwiches, including options like grilled pork, grilled chicken, and grilled beef. The baguette is perfectly toasted and filled with flavorful meat, fresh vegetables, and Vietnamese mayo. While the sandwiches are tasty, some customers feel that for the price, they expected more, especially compared to cheaper options elsewhere. The restaurant also serves boba drinks, including popular choices like the taro smoothie, although the boba can be a bit chewy for some. Spring rolls are available as well. It is considered a hidden gem with prices slightly lower than some competitors, though there is a 75 cent charge for credit card transactions. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant, making it a nice spot to enjoy a meal or wait for orders called out by a small speaker. Customer service is always nice, and while prices have gone up, many still enjoy treating themselves to this restaurant.
Was in the area and tried the most popular sandwich they sell. It was great! Most impressive is the speed the order was made because it was really quick.
Next time I visit the library next door, I am going to get another. They have iced coffee that I want to try out also.
We had a great experience at this Vietnamese sandwich shop in San Diego. The bread was fresh and perfectly crispy, and the fillings were authentic, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. The drinks were outstanding and paired really well with the sandwiches.
The staff was friendly, courteous, and efficient, and our order came out quickly despite how busy the shop was. There’s a wide variety of options, and it’s clearly a popular spot, so I recommend arriving early and ordering more than one sandwich—you won’t regret it.
Overall, an excellent stop for high-quality bánh mì and great service. We drove from Westminster and the drive up the coast...read full review
They have vegetarian options for bánh mì, egg & veggie pork (soy based). They use the same fake meat for the tofu spring rolls. As a new vegetarian that used to love eating chả lụa (pork roll) I'm super stoked to find a place with high quality vegetarian bánh mì that is similar enough. They're also one of the few spots that does durian smoothies, and they are very good!
