But at this shop, which hs clearly seen it all, the gentleman was very kind, and most of all, interested in solving my issue. He was curious, tried an experiment, and explained why my key was unusual. His experiment worked and I now have a spare key! Even if it was not successful, I was so happy that he had the energy and interest to think outside of the box, not with wild abandon, but with the know how from years of experience. You get to pick from a few designs or you can just choose the plain version. I chose the 49ers. The best thing was, that there was no waiting around for a store clerk to come around for key-cutting assistance like the big hardware stores.
