I dropped in for two classes on a trip to SF and had a great time! I’m an adult green belt visiting from Boston. The senseis are very attentive and the students very welcoming. You’ll find great technical instruction and tough randori rounds here.

From what I saw of the kids classes, there were a lot of students and the senseis worked well with the kids.

I wish I had more time in SF to train here and will definitely try to visit again.

Really liked this place. The first real time I tried judo. It felt legit. The instructor was good (Sensei Chris?) and I appreciated that he paid attention to the newbies, giving more detailed explanations and tips. Everyone was beyond just nice. The students (black belts and lower belts) were abnormally friendly and supportive. It had a great atmosphere. I only went to the Tuesday adult class but it was a very diverse mix of students from older to younger (including two new 57 year old students) and from experienced to newbies. I also liked the venue. Nothing fancy, but It felt like a real old time school, which is my style.

At first I wasn't particularly interested in judo, but a week ago I caught myself wanting to join a class. By now, I've been attending Cahill's Judo Academy for almost six months (thanks to the children of my host family,... read full review
