Still the best ever. Seems like only cheap people are hating on this place! I'm sorry your eyebrows look like praying mantis legs and you look a decade older than you should. Oh and you can go ahead and get free advice done at other places by college girls making minimum wage to "match your colors"... They aren't going to have the experience and knowledge that Thea has. Her best clients value her time and know her worth! Shop small businesses!

Thea is a great Midtown Day Spa. I enjoyed the facial services and products I received there and would highly recommend them for facial services and products.

Thea is a wonderful Esthetician. I split my time between SF and Sac and I was referred here by ModVellum in San Francisco. They also carry their skincare which is awesome. I needed a place to get my Porcelain Peel because it practically removed all my pigment. You can trust Thea because she has at least 15 years of experience, and I'm sorry to say that I refuse to put my face in the hands of someone who doesn't. Definitely get a series of at least 3-6 peels. The skin is an organ and you just have to give it time to change and it will!! Also just a note you must get the products to prepare the skin for a peel. You will be shocked at how quickly the ModVellum products work. Thank you Thea!!

Too bad a review can't have anything less than one star - this place would get a negative 5 Stars! I had an ok facial a couple of years back from the owner Thea. She had a strong commitment in providing the highest skin care; but the facial did not match that. I had used a generous gift certificate and had some money left. Thea told me that I could come back anytime and use my remaining balance towards anything later on (but not true!!!). Sadly it took me a couple of years to come back - timing, busy life, plus there are places super close to me that provide superior facials. So a couple of years later timing was perfect and I went to the Thea Spa - but was told by the rude receptionist that my remaining balance was gone. They had switched how they kept their records and everything old was gone. No sorry, no let me talk to the owner, not even an offer to take a percentage of the balance, she didn't even bother to look at the paper I had showing my balance. Don't bother with this place - adequate facials, dishonest owner, horrible parking, rude receptionist, greedy thieves!

I am not high maintenance and I am solidly natural blond, including everything, but most annoyingly, the eyebrows. On occasion, I like to purty up. And I do so recognizing that a lot of the women willing to pretty my face up are a LOT more high maintenance than I am, and that's fine. Was it the best experience I've had? Maybe not, but it was pretty decent and I'd go back. I bought a groupon for eyebrow and tint, a steal at $19, and I ended up with Thea. I had almost forgotten my appointment due to non sleeping and massive headache, but I got there ahead of time, poured a glass of water, perused the cosmetics and colon cleanses, and tried some lotion. I was given a small paper to sign off saying I wasn't on acutane or a retinyl regimen. I brought a picture of the last time I liked how my brows were shaped and tinted. Thea is very business. She's quite nice. Things I liked: the rose/honey scented eyebrow wax and the fact that my brows weren't at all red post waxing. The tint she used makes my eyes pop. Good job! I rarely (okay, never) use eyeshadow and liner, and I wear glasses, so brows are key. Especially when I lift them quizzically. I want them seen when I am making fun of people. I also liked the little garden area out back, but you couldn't wander around half dressed in a robe back there. Waiting your turn with a book and a tea would be lovely though. Things I could have done without: The lecture on my capillaries. I use BB cream when I use anything at all, but I'm super fair and she recognized that's just my skin type. But normally?? I get told my skin looks AMAZING for my age, which I figure is due to not a lot of gunk. I was told I gotta fight cancer and my skin's essentially a wreck. I was told I need products. And powder. Apparently, lots of powder. Which didn't look horrible, but I could feel it post-application because I'm sensitive. Eh. I'm not overly gullible, and I have a nice dermatologist who said I look fantastic for 42. I'm more inclined to believe his opinion of my skin. But I like soaps and lotions, so I listened. See, I was there to tint my eyebrows so I don't have to put any crap on them to make them stand out. I don't even care if they are even, or if she took part of the arch off my right side, because I have plucked these things into submission and I'm not very vain (you'd know this if you saw my hair, which I get cut short and let grow out until I can't stand it anymore.) I have two little kids and work full time and am married. Things that make me feel AMAZINGLY good include still finding creamer in the fridge and having the bathroom to myself, I can barely fathom having a massage and facial regularly anymore. That said, I'm also not falling apart. But I got to sit through a powdering session and eyebrow pencil-in action post wax and tint. This was complementary as well as complimentary. I'm not a make up gal, try as I might once in awhile, so it didn't press my BUY THIS NOW buttons. HOWEVER, there was a make up primer and sunscreen that DID appeal to me, and at $52 for a 3 month supply, it was cheaper than the pharmacy products I use, and it's tinted. And I love it. I washed all the crud off my face and fell in love with my product, it smooths pores, has a light tint, and is SPF 30. You can wear it alone, or under make up (naturally, I would love the All In One product uber alles. But I'd settle for a product that smoothed me out a bit.) Anyway, I'd go back. I'd even let them powder me up. Heck, I'm even interested in the colon cleanse if I can get the bathroom to myself for 20 minutes straight.

I walked in on a whim to get makeup done for an event. The young woman at the desk did a great job and was so helpful. She took a lot of time and care and I felt great afterwards.

I went here after I got a Living Social deal for a micro photo facial. I had a similar experience as other reviewers--a lot of hard selling for a treatment series, some reeeaaally expensive products and the usual upselling. I expected this though, and I think listening to their spiel was an okay price to pay for the great deal. I saw Alex and she cleansed my skin prior to the service with a neat little scraper tool. The micro photo facial was really cool! It zaps the skin (but not too uncomfortably), and my skin instantly looked so much better. I added on the LED treatment afterward, and that was pretty neat too. The acne scarring on my temple is so much less noticeable now, and after only one treatment. I enjoyed the treatments and the results were visible pretty much instantly. I peeled a little afterward, but I was expecting much worse! Obviously, I can't afford the $850 peel series they want me to get, but what I did get was awesome. I would give the whole experience 5 stars if it weren't for all the upselling.
