I walked in and went to the directory to see where to go and the guard told me I was not allowed to look at the directory because it was out of his view of site. He said that he would call the police because he could not see me. So what’s the point of the directory if no one is allowed to look at it?

I have talked to about 20 different representatives at Social Security and several other agencies. Everyone I spoke to gave conflicting/erroneous information. Each agency kept telling me to call some other agency. Just now, one agent at Social Security told me to call the State of California Department of Health and Human services, but the number he gave me was for my local health care provider: Golden Valley Health Centers. I wasted 45 minutes on hold for nothing. WHY?? GVHC does not handle MediCal/MediCare cases. They just provide health care. The patient has to provide proof of medical coverage. Well- I'm TRYing! But no one will help me. I finally found a number online for state health and human services. The number is no longer in service. I finally found THIS number, (916) 445-1248, and they refered me to several different representatives who kept dropping my call and giving me MORE wrong numbers to call. I am on SSI, with MediCare part B and D paid by the state, so I have not been charged for premiums or co-pays for meds. But I do NOT have part A for hospital coverage in case of emergency, and I don't think I have part C. I need MediCare Advantage. [If I was told correctly that it will cover everything.] The deadline to choose a plan is Dec 7th- a date which will live in infamy- and nobody will help me! What do I DO??

You want to know why you can’t use your state funded MediCal at Kaiser,Sutter,John Muir,UC Davis,Northbay or any other private doctors in the state? It’s because The Department of Health Care Services has placed caps on how many new MediCal members these hospitals can accept unless they were already members from having that provider through an employer or Covered California. The Department of Healthcare Services and Managed health care companies across the state are forcing MediCal members to go too these poorly ran poorly rated community clinics because the more people they have going to these clinics the more money the state gets from the government.
