If it is one thing this agency does NOT like doing, is being responsive to taxpayers of the state that fund its existence! You will NOT be able to call anyone at it, or get a call FROM anyone at it! They do NOT want to hear from taxpaying Calfornians! This is evidenced by their “call Center” being IMPOSSIBLE to reach someone at when you need to change Medi-Cal providers, or have moved to a different county. This agency makes DMV look efficient by comparison!

I really appreciate that they finally got the covered California site working properly. In the beginning, it was the most difficult website to use. Even today there’s redundant information that doesn’t seem logical but you just leave it alone because it works. It’s like they got the cheapest programmer to do the worst job and now you just have to keep putting a finger in the dike to keep it rolling.

Fast forward to 2025, and the program seemingly refused my updated payroll documents, assuming the data from 2022, and delisted me from the covered California program to Medi-Cal. I never applied for Medi-Cal. I don’t want Medi-Cal. While lots of people see...read full review

I’ve been requesting for over a yr medical for my child and myself. I got approved for 2 months before they took us off because I “make too much” if that was the case, I wouldn’t be calling constantly pleading for help. My right breast I have a lump the size of a gulf ball and I can’t get seen bc of medical. I need emergency root canal and I can’t get that done because you guys keep denying me. $600 are my checks bi wkly and your referrals to buy a $575 insurance from covered ca is something I can’t afford.
