I found Nancy after my new dog (4 y/o Yorkie) was showing a lot of aggression towards my resident dog (8 y/o Maltipoo). She was the only behavioralist trainer that didn’t do prong collars or e collars (which was important to me) and did not do treats but instead praise (I didn’t want to depend on treats forever). After two sessions my Yorkie has completely changed. He walks confidently behind/next to me on his leash, has learned the foundation of commands, and has taught me how to be a pack leader! Nancy taught me the importance of identifying and understanding how to read dog body language, establish my place in the pecking order and how to redirect my Yorkie’s...read full review

I have been having a lot of issues with my dogs and did not know how to handle the barking and the diss obedience. I googled for my area, a female trainer that specializes in barking, aggression, and general obedience. The first name that came up was Nancy Turnage. I read her reviews and saw that people said as soon as she walked in the door. Their dogs were totally different. They felt her energy and her taking charge. My dogs have never been that behaved ever. She sits down with you and explains everything about what it is all about having dogs and what they expect of us as being their parents. All I can tell you is that if you need someone that is experienced and caring and answers your email within 24 hours, then you need to call Nancy. All I can say is Nancy I can't thank you enough. My dogs are like brand new. Thank you again and I look forward to meeting up with you for follow ups.

We chose bark busters after trying training at one of the big pet stores. I will admit that the training bark busters advocates helped where the "nothing but positive" failed. However the approach bark busters presented was to show the dog who was in charge and we did get results. Then we plateaued. The only direction we received was to continue some of the techniques taught such as "water bombs" which is an improvised water ballon using ziplock bags. For our dog that reached a limit and she was still leash reactive to other dogs. It was disheartening and depressed when we were directed that we should create a bag that can hold "water bombs" so we can have them handy anytime we take our dog out. It wasn't very encouraging think we would have to "water bomb" our dog while trying to sit at Starbucks and have coffee. We eventually found a dog trainer that showed us how to bring together the mindset of the reward system that the big pet store offers and the "in charge" system that bark busters advocates and we now moved past the plateau we experienced with bark busters, have more behavioral success with our dog and a better relationship. We have had the successes of sitting at Starbucks and having coffee and taking her to a big pet store without incident. Bark busters may work for certain dogs, but in some circumstances it seems like it stalls out.
