Donnie came out right away and confirmed that the heater had broken irreparably and was still under warranty. As soon as the plumbing supply store reopened, he drained and uninstalled the old heater, drove it out of town to the store, exchanged it for the new one, and now we have a brand-new hot water heater for just the cost of labor!
