Visited March 20, 2025. I came with a MRI scan and a sharp pain in my neck. The main manager joked around and had me spend an hour with band stretches with no hands on. He never looked at my MRI scan. Sadly this business is just an easy money pit with no therapists interested in doing any real therapeutic work.

They are knowledgeable, they are encouraging and they are kind. I was able to relax and focus almost immediately because of the positive people and environment. I enjoyed the casual conversation and when I had questions they had answers! Because of this team, I was able to avoid surgery, forever grateful. Thank you.

The traffic in Pasadena on Friday afternoon was heavier than usual, and I was about 6-minute late for my second appointment with PT Kathy Wilcox. She did not come to greet me but had her assistant, whom I’ve never met before, pick me up from the front desk. The assistant did not seem to know my issue (he thought I had a shoulder problem when it was a neck issue). He may also be quite new to the job and had some challenges in providing clear instructions, including when he put me on the neck traction machine, which was a bit concerning for me experiencing it for the first time. Kathy sat in her office station close by, while the assistant did everything. She eventually came out to work with me for some minutes toward the end, after I raised concerns about an exercise instruction and the session routine. That’s also when the most unpleasant part started. Kathy first told me in an abrupt manner that the reason why she wasn’t following the session routine was because “you were late.” Then she fired a lot of questions at me in a demanding voice, while I was lying on my back with her hands on my neck, supposedly relieving my neck stress! She pressed on about who was the other PT that gave me a different instruction, where did he receive his training, where did he work, did his instruction work, and why don’t I just keep seeing him instead of coming to this clinic. While the questions were becoming increasing inappropriate, I tried my best to mitigate the intimidating tension by reminding her information that I’ve explained before during the in-take.I felt quite distraught by the end of the session, left the clinic as quickly as I could, and cancelled all my remaining appointments. The manager I later spoke to seemed to agree that what happened was unprofessional. However, he said in a casual voice that he would raise my concern with his team as a whole, suggesting that he probably won’t speak with Kathy directly about it. I did not feel he really cared about patient experience and will leave it up to Huntington Orthopedics to decide whether this was good professional practice by its standard. For me, it was the worst PT experience I’ve had.

First of all, Christina and Kevin are great PT assistants! Very patient, instructive, and kind. Dr Kathy and Dr Michael were very informative; they can be a little tough, and challenge you, but in a good way. Highly recommend.

I recently had foot surgery and the young gentleman that put my cast on is very experienced. He put my cast on like it was second nature to him. Fast and efficiently. I had foot surgery in another facility and that Doctor is old school but take so long to put on a cast. I would be there 2+ hours and at Huntington Orthopedics I was out in 45 minutes. Joshua Rosario put the cast in in 30 minutes or less. Great Job Joshua!!!

I had an appointment with them today but accidentally went to Hntington Orthopedics instead of Huntington Orthopedics Physical Therapy which was nearby. This made me a little late. As a medical institution I was expecting some care and understanding for people with limited mobility who may move a little slower. Instead the person at the front desk berated me for being late and exaggerated how late I was. Then they cancelled not only that appointment but every appointment have with them in the current weeks (because apparently those time slots weren't long enough for an evaluation). This has left me with zero access to the physical therapy I obviously need. And they didn't care. I cannot imagine a medical institution being so careless and callous when handling medical care.

5 stars for Dr. Matt Hoekstra, DPT, and 3 stars for Ernest Reyes, PTA. Reyes, PTA's assistant/apprentice, however, deserves 5 stars for his work.I highly recommend Dr. Hoekstra, DPT! Although this place is generally good, the quality of your treatment will depend on which physical therapist you get assigned to.During my initial consultation, Dr. Hoekstra, DPT left me with a great impression. He was friendly, patient, and provided me with excellent advice. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns, which is why I decided to continue my treatment here. However, the office switched my physical therapist to Reyes, PTA without notifying me. Unfortunately, Reyes, PTA's treatment was not effective and the exercises he designed did not improve my ankle's recovery.I feel that this place has a fraternity culture, where some PTAs prioritize socializing and discussing sports over patient care. During a one-hour session, Reyes, PTA only spends 5-10 minutes on the treatment without letting me know how my recovering is progressing. He had his assistant show me how to do the exercises and then they left. He only wants to quickly finish the session without caring about the quality of the treatment that the patient receives. I have seen physical therapists in different states, and this is not the norm for how physical therapists usually treat their patients. After experiencing unprofessional treatment from Reyes, PTA, I immediately switched back to Dr. Hoekstra, DPT. The exercises he gave me were carefully designed and immediately resolved the pain in the back of my ankle. He is a very professional and knowledgeable physical therapist who genuinely cares about his patients. He is definitely one of the best physical therapists I have ever seen.
