Mike Hertzer and his team at Modern Landscaping recently completed a front and backyard installation for my husband and I at a newly built residence in Morgan Hill. Mike is truly a dedicated landscape professional. Mike was organized, on top of the job at all times, respectful and caring of his crew, and informed of the latest and best materials and techniques for the job. What's more, Mike is extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of plant material. He was very patient with my many questions; I learned a lot from him. As the principal of Verdance Landscape Design, my standards for quality installation are incredibly high--after all, my reputation rides on the results. Modern Landscaping is the rare contractor that actually exceeds my expectations. They are reliable in their work, proactive in asking questions and anticipating needs, creative in suggesting improvements, and just plain easy to get along with. And while their care and craftsmanship are superb, my favorite part of working with Modern is their communication: I always know where a job stands and what's next. I'm eager to put my next project in the hands of Mike Hertzer and Modern Landscaping.

Modern Landscaping installed all of the hard- and soft- landscaping as per my landscape architects drawings, and they did a fantastic job. This was two years ago, and my garden and all of the elements (gas firepit, outdoor kitchen, water feature, lighting, french drain, etc, etc) still work perfectly. They did a fantastic job with the remodel. Every member of his crew were professional, punctual, very detail-oriented, and answered all of my questions, no matter how many. Modern's crew also does the weekly maintenance. They go above and beyond the mow and blow, and they really know their plants and how to care for them.
