We hired Mike to do plans for a pool, but he flaked on the project halfway through. The plans and designs were rejected by the County and he refused to make any changes to the plans to pass the requirements of the Environmental Health Department. Stopped answering and returning calls, no response to emails, and never tried to fix the problem. Unfortunately, he required his payment up front and we were unable to do anything. Would not recommend doing business with this company.

Mike and his pool building company was the worst experience we have ever had among all our remodelling projects. Incredibly attentive and punctual at the beginning he little by little became unresponsive and eventually disappeared after taking most of the money. Without getting into details I can only suggest you to stay away from this company.

Stay away from this mess of a "company". The owner talked a good talk, but we later found out he didn't have the skills to back it up. We hired him to remodel our pool. We wanted to remove the built in spa, add a baja shelf, square off some walls, and update our waterfall. After demo there was one teenager, early 20's, guy dorking around with no idea of what he was doing. He didn't know what rebar was called nor an angle grinder. He was on the phone with the owner every 20 minutes asking for direction. He admitted to me that he'd never worked on a pool before. The owner didn't have an approved permit until 6 weeks after starting work which we later found out is against code. The City of Folsom did the first inspection and approved them to shoot gunite. With many questionable items still outstanding I called another pool builder to take a quick look before gunite and give a second opinion. Good thing because the 2nd opinion guy didn't need more than 30 seconds to find a handful of problems. I halted work with Sac Custom Pools and asked the head inspector of Folsom to come out. He brought the plans the next day and immediately apologized for the plans being approved and said the inspector that approved the work was a temp. Turns out the plans were for a new pool, not a remodel, which turned out to be a big problem. I found out the generic plans were purchased online for $150. The head inspector wrote up a lengthy corrections list and we promptly fired Sac Custom Pools. I went after his bond and received a payout, went after his license and got it suspended and fines levied, and went after his accredited BBB rating which is no longer accredited as a result. I stopped short of a lawsuit because I don't believe he has any money to go after. Other issues: He destroyed the one part of our yard he agreed not to touch. His contract was lacking substantial required information. He told us he applied for the permit so we paid him $1500 for the plans and permit. Turns out he hadn't applied for the permit at the time we paid him which is against code. The rebar was supposed to be epoxied into the existing structure, I was able to pull it right out of the wall. The rebar was laying in the dirt and approved for gunite, it needs to be raised 6". The autofill unit magically disappeared right before inspection and was installed right after. I talked to the inspector and asked if he saw the autofill unit and he said definatly not. The plumbing was very questionable with burnt PVC and jets that were unhooked even after I pointed it out multiple times. The light boxes were not symmetrical or grounded correctly. We gave him chances to improve the quality and speed up his work and even offered a monetary bonus for getting the work done timely. He never acknowledged the crappy quality of his work even though everything had to be torn out and redone correctly by the contractor who took over. ***Be sure you scroll to the bottom of this page and click the "other reviews that are not currently recommended" link to see more unhappy customers.
