Our home in Pasadena sustained soot and ash damage from the Eaton fire. During the course of remediation, it was discovered we had exposed fiberglass insulation in our air ducts. The insurance company insisted on cleaning vs replacing the ducts, despite three HVAC specialist confirming they could not be cleaned (disturbing the fiberglass further would make things even more unsafe). In May 2022, Duct Armor coated our HVAC ducts.
Our ducts are encapsulated in the concrete slab foundation and had some rusting and deterioration of the metal since their installation 42-years ago.
Almost 2-years later, the coating is holding up and continues to perform as expected i.e., arresting the rusting process, sealed any openings, and providing a clean chamber for air to flow.
