Nick is amazing! I have curly hair and he’s one of the very few people who knows how to work my hair, and I’ve tried so many places in the past! Can’t recommend him enough.

I lived in the Bay for 20 years, and crossed the bridge countless times to have Nick cut my hair. I live in NYC now, and *finally* found a good stylist here, but I still wish I could clone Nick and import him to the east coast. I lost all my hair to chemo in 2014, and growing it out took forever, because of the damage to my hair follicles. My hair also came back differently textured for the first 6-9 months, with lots of grey that wasn't there before. Nick got me through that wretched period, with so much kindness and patience, as well as creative ideas for making the look work while I awaited growth. So grateful for your talent and care for all those years. Thanks, Nick. You're the best.

Always feel like a million bucks when I leave Nick’s. I have kinda difficult, curly-wavy hair that I need to be masc , it’s a tall order! Thank you Nick, you totally get what my hair needs.

Super clean high and tight fade up to my sadly thinning top. Nick made me look good! He also gave me a great advice about products I can be using. 10/10 will come back. I included a generous tip for his skill and care.

Do not trust Nick with your curls - whoever on Reddit said they were good with queer & trans, curly & straight cuts lied. I gave them the same instructions and showed the same photo of me I show every stylist and he barely looked and ruined my hair beyond repair. Curly shortish asymmetrical non-binary hair is not that unique of a cut - and all Nick had to do if he didn’t understand it was admit that. He could have done the barber part and maybe cut off the split ends off and I would have recommended him to my queer friends with really short or straight hair. Any hairdresser should know you can not just cut curly hair straight across — and that 10 strands of a curl he left will never curl in the same way again. The 10 strands never cooperate, look ridiculous and rub my check in the most obnoxious way.
It was really obvious he messed and up and he never let me catch my breath to be able to have a real conversation about what to do after he cut way too much off in a horrible style - I looked like my mom. My hair was the one part of my body I could stand and feel an ounce of gender euphoria around. Now I can’t stand to look at it and can’t stop thinking about it because the 10 strands left of my one curl rub my face in the most obnoxious way possible.

Have been going to Nick for about 6 months. Very happy with his work on my unruly, wavy short/medium length hair. The salon has a relaxed, low pressure vibe. No product hard sell. Always does his best to make you look and feel great. Booking system works well. His dog Milo is an added bonus.

Nick is an outstanding hairdresser. He takes time to find out what your needs and desires are, then works overtime to meet those needs. He is a perfectionist when it comes to hairdressing, which is a nice trait for hairdressers to have. He’s one of the best out there!
