I had my first office visit here this week and during my cleaning the dentist was wiping the mirror put in my mouth on his sleeve, rather than the inside of my cheek.
I was grossed out and could not stop thinking about how many times the dentist had done that to other patients by the time I got there at the end of the day. It seemed like a habit and I encourage the office to revisit their sanitary practices. The dentist was also very judgemental of other dentists in the Bay area, true or false it was a turn off. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back again.
The front office person was very kind as was the dental assistant in training. The office was clean, tidy and located in a very convenient location. I enjoyed the explanations of the biology (however unsolicited) of things that keep me motivated to take care of my teeth when I understand why.

I go their out of convenience because it's walkable from my house and their cleanings are fine. Their best asset is their technician, Brian. Everyone else seems miserable doing the minimal with customer service. Communication is poor almost unprofessional in some case. Everytime I go, I leave wanting to find a new dentist. Life gets busy again and procrastinate. I think I've hit my breaking point...

I visited this dental clinic today and was truly impressed by the professionalism of Dr. Lance Brune. From our discussion about my treatment plan, it was immediately clear that Dr. Brune has a genuine passion for dentistry. Unlike some other dentists who seem more focused on profit and often push unnecessary procedures, Dr. Brune only recommends what is truly essential and beneficial. I really appreciate that level of honesty and integrity.
As for Brian, he is hands down the best dental hygienist I’ve ever met. I’ve had quite a few hygienists before, but none have done the job as thoroughly and efficiently as Brian. He is clearly very experienced and skilled, and I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to be treated by him.
I was feeling quite nervous about my dental visit, but everyone here was so friendly and welcoming—it immediately put me at ease. The warm atmosphere truly made all the difference.
Overall, this was one of the most professional and reassuring dental experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended.

I was not comfortable going to the dentist because I knew my mouth needed work. When I got there I found out just how much, and that was scary. I initially had deep scaling done but to my surprise I was not afraid to return. That is because Dr. Lance, his wife and staff are a friendly ,true, professional team. It was clear to me that Dr. Lance knew what he was doing and that relieved my anxiety. My biggest fear was getting silver fillings removed. There is so much information out there about mercury poisioning. When I expressed my concerns I was given complete information and any questions I had were answered. You're told just how much everything costs, so there are no surprises and with all the work that was done, I was very pleased that my co pay was affordable. I ended up with a pleasant surprise. I had a few fillings done and the results were that those teeth are beautiful. I wish the rest of my teeth looked that nice. Dr. Lance is a true artist. Clean office, current technology, friendly people, dentists and technicians that are on top of their game - if you need dental care, Lakeshore Family Dentistry is the place to go. Just want to say "Thank you" to all of you.

Just had my new patient appointment at Lakeshore Family Dental and wanted to report it deserves the 5 Star Salute. Not only is the receptionist Arielle a delight on the phone, but it seems her warm and personable manner is representative of the entire practice. I was very positively impressed with Doctor Brune, who started his visit by acknowledging that I wouldn't be able to talk much once he got started, and solicited my concerns and questions before he disabled my mouth. After learning that I am a clinician he then enriched the rest of our time with fascinating insights about the biology of the mouth and the mechanics of the jaw, not to mention thoughts on diet, human psychology and geographic distribution of disease, as he probed, tidied and adjusted things inside my mouth. He enthusiastically cited multiple studies from not only within his field but beyond, demonstrating an intellectual curiosity that seems to truly inform and enhance his work as a dentist. Of course I felt good because he complimented my shallow pockets (dentist joke), but he also had a logical interpretation and practical solution to my chief complaint which was an incomplete incisor bite, which I had mistakenly attributed to a different cause. He spent that very visit adjusting my bite, and laid out several backup strategies if the bite doesn't improve in the next few weeks. All in all, I feel I have found not only a soul mate in oral health nerdiness but overall, a friendly and proactive practice which really wants to prolong my relationship with my teeth. Oh, and did I mention they take Delta Dental PPO, which has a reputation for crappy reimbursement to the hard working clinicians who are on their insurance panel? So grateful that such high quality care is available to me.5 stars for Lakeshore Family Dental !

I began with the previous Dentist; he retired, and his practice came to Dr. Brune and Dr. Vasquez. I was immediately a big fan, having come from a Berkeley practice that wanted to up-sell many additional services and treatments. The office staff is competent and polite. The dental hygienist is patient and thorough; he spotted a small infection which, on checked out by Dr. Vasquez, turned out to be a cracked tooth. An excellent referral to an oral surgeon on Pill Hill promptly solved the problem. The doctors are young parents and seem comfortable with kids. I am a grandmother type, so I am saying that they are truly a family dentistry.

I consider myself a new patient, as I've only been seeing Dr. Brune and his team for a little over a year with three cleanings and 1 filling under my belt. I personally haven't had great experiences with the Dentist and don't exactly enjoy going in even for basic cleaning. With Lakeshore Family Dentistry I don't really mind going in all that much. The team is methodical, offers deep cleaning during my regular check ups, and isn't pushy with having extra work done unless they feel it's strictly necessary to prevent further issues.I recently went in for a filling appointment, they were running behind about 30 minutes but Dr. Brune worked quickly and was able to get me out of the door in less time than expected. On top of that, he did great work. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in for a filling later after the anesthesia has worn off that the bite doesn't sit right. Dr. Brune adjusted several times, until the bite was just right. I wouldn't go so far to say that I'm excited to get a filling, but will say I feel more assured that things will be done right with Dr. Brune.

I’ve been a patients of LFD for 10 years now and watched the practice move from Dr. McEtchin to Brune and Vasquez and it’s been wonderful in both iterations. Always friendly, always timely and always making sure that my teeth and gums are in healthy shape both when I am there and in between visits! Lupita at the front desk is lovely and always makes sure my appointments and insurance are always sorted and ready for each appointment.Highly recommend Lakeshore Family Dentistry for all of your dental needs.
