Have come here for a few years now. I write this after her Covid-19 re-opening and she now takes extra care with mask, gloves, safety glasses and a face shield. At no point does she need to touch you, and she even has a special tool to make sure the mask stays on but she can still cut the hair around the ears.Elaine is always friendly and does a great job on my asian thicker and slightly curly hair. Price is extremely good, but even if it were higher there would be no problem coming to Elaine each time, especially during Covid times now.I walked in, but she also takes appointments.

What place and what a person dedicated to her excellent work I mean I don't have a words for her phenomenal work I am took my wife to have her hair done she did the excellent job she is an artist and she have a magic in her hands to perform the job we live in El Cerrito and there is lots of hair salons and she is in Oakland we decide to go to the place where we get satisfaction we highly recommend her to everybody to check this place out

Cannot argue against value. $9 beats others in Chinatown for better quality cut and effort...and Elaine is super nice too. She does a great job with my hair and I go back every month now. Not sure if her english is great since most of her customers are Chinese/cantonese, but just bring a photo if you are not sure. She really is the nicest lady. There's not much of a wait either, for cheaper than others around... So find this gem of a business at the back of the indoor mall area here! (Enter next to Shandong restaurant and walk to the back)
