We lived at a MIG Capital owned property called The Hamptons, in Lakewood, CO for 17 months. During this time we saw MIG Capital hire and replace 3 different property management companies. When we moved the place was being managed by Greystar. Initially Greystar seemed better than the last two, but that was short lived. The office staff is difficult to get hold of, rarely returns a phone message, and poorly trained in how to operate a community such as this. Since Greystar arrived in Feb. '19 we experienced 3 different interactions with office staff who have unpleasant attitudes and difficulty understanding how to act in a professional manner. We have friends and acquaintances living at other comparable apartments nearby that are run well. Wish we had done more research before we moved there. Glad to be gone and living in a well managed community. Top 26 list (in no particular order) of unpleasant issues living at The Hamptons Apartments in Lakewood, Colorado: * Maintenance took a week to come fix broken toilet flusher. * Dog poop trash bins overflow with feces due to inadequate attention. * Both pools are dirty, have crappy chairs, and unattractive, empty landscaping areas. * Property manager and staff do not walk the property to see the problems. * Residents hang their clothes to dry on outside balcony in violation of lease. * Residents hang privacy tarps over their balconies in violation of lease. * Management allows residents to have large propane tanks for their grills in violation of lease and against local laws. * Dog poop bag dispensers aren't filled with any regularity. * Maintenance recklessly distributes excessive amount of rock salt when it snows-resulting in most dogs experiencing unnecessary pain and discomfort. * Management hires cheap, inexperienced, low work ethic landscaping company. * Maintenance crew irresponsibly drives golf carts fast over the lawn ripping it up and causing muddy areas. * A new Amazon locker system was installed on the property-unfortunately management still doesn't even know how to explain to residents the proper way to find the room and access the lockers. Currently all packages/envelopes are left in the room unsecured for anyone to take. * The small enclosed dog area is muddy and dangerous. Broken items with hazardous nails sticking out waiting to injure someone. * Apartments aren't prepared properly prior to move in. Ours wasn't cleaned well, the dishwasher was inoperable, cooking range burner broken, 2 light bulbs blown, electrical contractor left wire, cables, and trash on carpet. * Dog owners watch their dog poop in dog yard and then walk away without picking up. Management doesn't even post a standard "please pick up" sign. * Tennis net ripped and broken all summer. Management has no clue because they don't leave the office and walk the property. * The balconies are hazardous. Rusty nails popping out all over. Paint is pealing - hasn't been painted in many years. They don't understand how to upkeep the property. * All landscaping/flower corals are empty...looks horrible. * There's no speed limit posted! A number of unsafe, irresponsible residents go 25/30 mph through community. We asked over a year ago to post 10mph signs, they said they would but never did. They obviously don't care about operating a safe complex. Lots of kids live here running around. Hard to believe. * Never any parking spaces close to your unit if you get home after 10pm. * They allow residents to have as many vehicles as they want. Including commercial trucks and trailers. * Contractors operate their business out of the garages they rent in violation of community rules. * The photos of the complex they posted in Yelp are not from this property. Clear misrepresentation/bait and switch. * The poop bags they provide are worthless. They're so cheap they rip when you pull on them from the dispenser. * The property at night is excessively dark and dangerous. There's almost no street lights which makes it difficult to walk the property
