Got a haircut. Cut the bangs way too short, asked for a fade, didn’t get it, asked for lays/texture, didn’t get it. $15 for that. If you don’t care about hair and just want a cut then come. If you want to look aesthetic, find somewhere else

This stretch of Garvey Avenue in Monterey Park has a fair number of salons. May & Tri happens to be one of them. I used to frequent this business back in elementary school, before my mom decided to take haircutting duties into her own hands. To return after all these years and see the old-school interior looking more or less how I remembered brought back bits and pieces of nostalgia. Not sure if it is the same owner, but I am glad the place is still around. I came in for an emergency haircut, since I had to attend an event, my sides were growing puffy, and my mom was on vacation. Needed a clean up and my normal barber is closed on Mondays. I go by this place a lot and let's noticed a line on the side entrance. Figured I'd give it a try. After all. How bad can you mess up a clean up? Naturally there was a line but noticed the barber doing color on client. Once done he jumped to the next and I was able to see his cutting skills as this person asked for a zero fade. I figured if he could make that happen then I'm safe. Sure enough in 15 min he was done and it came out nice. I'm next! Got in the chair and just asked for a clean up and now I think I found a new barber! Not the cleanest place.
