I finally met a doctor who truly cares about her patients. She takes as much time as I need during consultations and provides detailed information about my health condition. I feel completely comfortable asking her all kinds of questions—something I’ve never experienced before. I’m honestly surprised her reviews are low, because she’s exceptional. I feel so lucky to have finally met her!

Terrible experience. I called ahead to let them know I was running about 10 minutes late due to taking a wrong turn, and they assured me it was fine as long as I arrived before 3:30. I pulled in at 3:10, only to receive a message from Sara saying I had two minutes to get inside or I’d need to reschedule—yes, at 3:10, even though I was still within the time they had just confirmed was acceptable.

To make matters worse, the appointment confirmation didn’t include the suite number, and the doctor isn’t listed on the building directory either. As I’m standing outside trying to figure out where to go, I check my phone and see a message that the doctor had already left for the day—all within a matter of two minutes. Completely unprofessional and frustrating experience. I won’t be returning.

Dr. Kaneko is a good doctor and so are her other doctor's that work with her. I am happy with the service I get from her office and staff.

My concern is the lack of communication this medical group team have when it comes to patient care. They not only not notify patients but also are unsure of what is pending. This is a primary care office, which means that patient rely on their provider to advocate for them. When they don't know the disease process, or the diagnosis, or who the last provider who seen the patient was isn't that kind of concerning. When asked for the last provider name, the doctor here said that she will have to transfer us to the front desk as of chart review isn't a thing.

When asked if Dr. Shinobu Luisa Kaneko is practicing, the MD said that she is only doing telemeds now. So really the practice is no longer with that primary as a primary. Why is it a bit misleading on who the provider is?

Had a follow up appt, but the follow up seems like they did not do a chart review prior to the last visit and not brushed up on the patient's profile as well.

Reviews are in hopes that they improve. Will do a evaluation in 2025.

Dr Kaneko herself is a wonderful doctor, she takes the time to listen to you and has alternative solutions compared to most other physicians out there. She has more of a holistic approach that I love and look for in doctors. With that said, we can get to the bad. First of all, none of her appointments are in office. They are all via telephone, not even a video chat. It would be nice to put a face to a name. Her staff is always in a rush even when they are not busy. The woman at the front desk is very pushy and rude. She is always making mistakes because she is trying so hard to get you out fast. If she moved slower, she wouldn't need to correct those errors. There is a dr in office, Dr. Barua but I do not recommend her. She doesn't take the time to listen to your concerns and is only someone I see if I have urgent needs. Even then I feel like she's not much of a help. She offers no solutions to the problems I've had coming in. I wish Dr. Kaneko would take in person appointments or even virtual video appointments, it's very hard to find doctors like her who get to the root of the problem.

Kaneko herself is a really good doctor, but I've had bad experiences with the front desk administration where I've asked to be seen in person and Kaneko thought it was a tele health appointment. There were times where I spoke about getting a medication over the phone and when I went in person, they had me come in person only for them to tell me they can't prescribe it.

This office created me so much stress while I was assigned to Dr. Kaneko for a little over a year but because I had HMO and was going through a health issue at the time, I didn't switch PCP right away and delay things. I was so relieved when I finally switched PCP. Now, almost 3 years later, I received a bill from this office saying I owe copays for my visits. I'm pretty sure they always collected my copays after each visit but they said they stopped collecting copay in 2020 due to covid. Well, one of the visits they claimed I owe copay for was for 2019 so could any of this be a billing error? They just told me they have a lot of patients so that's why it took so long to bill copays and I need to pay everything. I didn't bother writing a negative review 2 years ago but just have to right now because I am so annoyed. Argh!

I booked my father an appointment at Dr. Kaneko's practice because he needed to get checked up, paperwork for the military, and medicine to treat his gout condition. Though the physician he saw he was very pleased with and the medication prescribed was very helpful, the most important thing was the paperwork. We stressed it when making the appointment, during the appointment and after the appointment. We were told not to worry about it and that it would be sent to us the following day in the early morning. 1) The doctor did not make sure everything was filled in correctly. They also said they had served in the military as well so they understood the importance of the paperwork we needed. Okay no problem, let's call them back. 2) We were told several times that it would just be 10minutes and the paperwork should get to the doctor shortly. Only after the third call did we realize the doctor wasn't even in that day, so they were hoping the fax sent to them.... We told them my dad NEEDED this paperwork or else he would be considered AWOL. 3) Third day....after calling in twice the person found the paperwork and asked "Oh it's here..do you want me to send it to you??".... Look, the ball wasn't just dropped for us. It was dropped and kicked over the fence. At the end of the day, we chose to use this practice and told them our needs and we're failed. When asked to rectify numerous times, we were failed again. The only reason this place gets two stars is because the gout medication truly helped and the appointment itself was first perceived as a great experience. Im disappointed by the events that followed, and because of it my father is now AWOL.

I was assigned to this office through my insurance company, which must have low standards based on my first impressions. The main office door is filthy, the furniture in the waiting room is someone's second hand dining stools. The reception window is surrounded by old paper signs. Very unprofessional and could use a cleaning. The doctor was ok, she seemed concerned and professional. After my initial Is it I had to deal with the staff. I had asked the doctor for a referral Acupuncturist , the staff informed me that they would follow through on this and send me a letter providing me authorization. Never got a letter, cAlled again and again ..... nothing . I did however get a referral appointment to see the orthopedic doctor (works ouT of her office) for a month and a half later. Her staff set me up. I returned a month and a half later , waited for an hour , was called and told that tHe doctor will be right with me .. oh and by the way "your insurance doesn't cover the visit" I got a little loud with the receptionist and walked out disgusted . I can't recommend this office uNless you want the raise yoUr stress level.
