“If you're in need of a proposal photographer, look no further! Steven did an amazing job in helping me prepare for the big moment, the photography session was really fun, and we loved the photographs.After talking to Steven on the phone, I knew right away that he was the photographer I wanted to go with - I was rather stressed about planning everything but he put my fears to ease, was very easy to talk to, and struck a perfect balance of figuring out exactly what I wanted while at the same time offering his great wisdom and advice to steer me in the right direction on key details. Over several phone calls and emails exchanged, he helped me weigh different options (e.g. is golden hour really important? should he secretly photograph the big moment or "bump into each other" ahead of time), plan the little details (e.g. the exact location where it should happen, how the shot should be framed, etc), and come up with contingency plans (e.g. what if it rains? what if the area is too crowded?).The results speak for themselves - the proposal went great (she was totally surprised) and he captured the moment beautifully. “Family includes dogs and getting their portraits takes work. When those moments are captured--the portraits turn to art that sparks joy and commands attention. My senior dog (10 yrs) and teen dog (2 yrs) had different personalities. Both responded to Ellen. My dogs looked into the camera and forgot all about Mom. It was all about Ellen and her camera! + Mindful. My senior dog had eye issues and Ellen was mindful of the flash. During the session she let the dogs run around on set before settling down for the actual shoot. After the shoot we took a break and got to see the proofs. + Patient. Ellen allowed me to ponder on my proofs. The task was challenging since I was on a budget but didn't want to lose special moments. She helped me navigate through all the proofs to find the ones I wanted. We followed up with a zoom call to finalize layouts and choices. + Instinctive. We tried posing with my girls on a sofa. The girls were not comfortable and I perhaps looked stiff. Ellen picked up on it and said let's move on. + Natural artistic vision. I had selected many for print but Ellen helped me select the right sizing and layout for my walls. Also what is key is finding the right photos for the layout. Her art studies came into play and this proved key. + Flexible and a listener. If I had concerns, Ellen heard me out whether through email, text, or phone. She actively resolved anything. Overall I am beyond pleased with the photos for my girls! I am completely thrilled with the final product. “I cannot say enough good things about Larissa. She was one of the absolute best decisions I made regarding our wedding. I was just looking for a few “money shots” of our wedding, you know, the photos you frame and hopefully end up on your grandkids wall one day. We have only gotten our “preview shots” back and she also already delivered SO much more than that. She managed to capture so many of the emotional moments of our big day but was never intrusive. She just somehow knows exactly where to be when to get the best photos. Also, my husband and I both usually feel a little awkward in front of the camera, but Larissa completely put us at ease. She was just fun to hang out with on our wedding day and all of that “awkwardness” melts away in the photos. Larissa is creative and artistic but also professional and organized. “We had a very pleasant experience with Yiqian and do recommend her. Our two young kids are very active and somehow Yiqian still managed to get many of photos of them. Before our session I had a consultation session with her, where she gave me details of what to expect as well as what she color palette she recommends we wear. The day of our session, the weather was a bit rainy. Yiqian drove to the location earlier to see if the weather was ok so that we didn’t have to drive and turn back. Yiqian was very patient during our session and gave us directions on how to pose. She also checked with our expectations during the session to make sure we got all the combinations we wanted. After the session, we received 140+ photos in one week (mind blowing) and we absolutely love them. These will be cherished.“
