Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services has been helping children for over a century. It provides wraparound programs, mental health services, foster care, housing, and educational resources so youth can overcome trauma and succeed. Some former residents from the late 2000s recall a program that was sometimes reckless, with difficult experiences regarding medication and staff. However, others report that it made a positive difference in their lives, offering a lot to those who wanted it and helping them live productively. Many express gratitude for the care and support they received from the dedicated staff.
I was here in 1987 c dorm. Ron was the supervisor with bad knees, Benny she was here, Elvia Diane Garmon was here and Tyrone. That was the staff, very good crew and they cared about us. Thankyou guys wherever you’re at now, god bless you all.
