PART TWO- continued We went ahead and booked a revisit anyway, accepting the $10 discount that was offered.
We came back in to see Dr. Wendy Brooks a few days later and had a set 9am appointment which was the first appointment of the day and confirmed on a call with the Front Desk.
We arrived right before 9am, checked in at the Desk and waited. We waited 30 mins and observed the situation. The situation was that the Desk was waiting for the Veterinarian to arrive onsite, were trying to call her to let her know that I was there and waiting.
30 mins of waiting, the Front Desk let me know that the Vet didn't know about my appointment and wasn't going to arrive until an hour later meaning 2 hrs after my set appointment. This didn't work and I needed to reschedule yet again.
Feeling awful, I rescheduled with the Front Desk for the next available appointment and was open to seeing both Vets as I felt that after now a full week of not being seen, this was becoming increasingly time sensitive. I then booked an appointment for 3 days later to see Dr. Woods.
We went into the room on time this time, talked very briefly about my dog, explained the situation and she sent two Vet Techs in to shave my dogs fur off.
Dr. Woods didn't listen to me or look at my dogs immediate situation, instead had a conversation with me about starting him on arthritis meds [injections for his elbow]. * This felt similar to the situation of the ear comment made by Dr. Brooks. Both of these might be situations to look into at another time but the immediate need was my dogs skin was raw, bleeding, he was having problems breathing and walking and obviously not in a good state.
While the Techs were in the room and shaving my dog, Dr. Woods did not come into the room, look at his state of health.
When checking out, it was noted by the staff that Dr. Woods had already left the building and went for her lunch break. She did not check in with me, she did not see what my dog even looked like after he was shaved and obviously left without giving me any direction.
I paid again in full [about $480.00 for this third appointment and for the Vet Techs to shave my dog, give me a cleaning spray, and send us on our way again with no answers. Two days later, I took my dog to Access in Culver City who immediately saw his state, took him away and got him hooked up to a ton of fluids and meds. Unaware of what was going on and unprepared, I lost my baby and spent another $5,000 at Access to walk away with my dogs ashes.
I am writing you to warn you that this place has me broken and I feel resentful towards them for treating me like I wasn't important. It wasn't my dog's time and I never got the attention that I was asking for and most certainly paid for. I am contacting both Mar Vista Animal Hospital and my bank to see if we can work something out because I spent well over $1,200 within these 4 visits to this location to get nothing from them except for the tangible cleaning product that they sold to me and resentful feelings for being treated like this.
I've debated writing this for months because I am not that type of way. I want to see small businesses flourish and I'd like to believe that Veterinarians are good people who actually care.
Dr. Brooks and Dr. Woods and their Front Desk team treated me like pure business and even more specifically, business that didn't matter to them.
Shame on this location and its staff. I truly believe I would have still had my dog if on my three attempts with them to be seen and heard that we might have gotten more answers in a timely manner.

I waited a while to write this review as I was really on the fence about it. We went to Sepulveda Animal Clinic for many years, but after Dr Galea retired, I needed a new vet and ended up here. As others have said in their reviews, the general vibe in the place is rather cold. I saw Dr. Cola who also had a very cold and slightly sarcastic personality. Not what you want in a vet. But what really mattered was solving my dog's issue, so I didn't focus too much on that. I gave her a chance and followed up with a few more visits. I continued to find her very short and dismissive. It was also very hard to get in touch with anybody in this office for follow-up inquiries. I cannot tell you how many times I waited on hold for way too long. When you text you do get a response from the owner, Dr. Wendy Brooks, but she is rather dismissive, as well. I got the feeling that it was really all about the money for them. I ended up going to a third vet, and he tried something different, and I really liked him. I will not be going back to Mar Vista.

Honestly, I want to like this vet. It's right down the street and is really cute and a pleasant place to be inside of. Unfortunately, for being such a small practice, they just aren't treating my beloved pets like they should be. I'm not going to go into great detail, but they ignored concerns I had for weeks and lied to me about procedures they said they would do. I'm currently on hold for over 50 minutes just to make an appointment for my cat despite the fact that I've been in numerous times over the past 2 months and have had 3 people (including me) on the cat side max at any given time, and I'm truly sick of it. They don't do walk-ins, and they don't seem to care about customer service. Just go to Center Sinai, it's just a couple blocks away. I'm done with this place.

Dr Brooks and her staff are very caring, devoted and effective. My dog Mocha had a medical problem with confusing symptoms that VCA ER was not able to get to the bottom of unless we waited all night. I called Mar Vista Vet and they got him in very quickly and worked around my schedule, made sure to thoroughly rule out high acuity medical issues such as pancreatitis, and when my dog left we knew his symptoms where not related to anything other than his back aches. When Mocha left Mar Vista Vet he was happy and feeling better. Thank you Dr Brooks and Mar Vista Vet staff for being there for Mocha!

Needed an emergency deworming for my dog; this place was one of the only ones open Sunday, and they saw me and treated my dog promptly and at very reasonable prices. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone nearby.

Just to get some vaccinations, however, while waiting about a half an hour after my scheduled appointment time they seem to be very confused with various peoples pets. Smelled really bad in there. The staff didn't seem to have good organization, and I lost my confidence and they came out to give a dog Shot, but the dog was just scheduled to get an eye check up. I walked out.

Dr. Brooks saved my dog’s life! I wanted a second opinion because my usual vet was so quick to suggest euthanasia. Dr. Brooks and her staff were incredibly professional, compassionate, and thorough. I recommend this office to everybody!

Dr. Wendy Brooks literally saved my dog's life. I went to another vet closer to my home and that vet gave my dog a death sentence. I think that Vet looked at my dog who is 17 years old and just said oops end of life but Dr. brooks treated my dog with the compassion and understanding and professionalism That is the hallmark of her clinic.!!! I recommend a Dr. Brooks and her staff to everybody. I had a great experience and I'm so indebted to her... If I could give 10 stars, I would ! Dr. Brooks is the best and so is her staff... Can't say enough good things about her...
