The people are so friendly and also knowledgeable. It's a great combination of ancient wisdom and tradition and rigor while also being humble, earnest, and approachable plus it's a creative space that feels like a maker space but for your mind ;) Delicious tea and sometimes meals; a whole host of great events from full moon ceremonies to raucous dharma combats and weekly talks that change how i see everything but also show me how great i am already despite also being endearingly bonkers.

It’s all good to have like-minded people get together, to explore the wisdom of higher power. However, I am not sure certain protocols, the hosts run the evening. One of the hosts pressured me to put my small bag of personal belongings in the back room. It was my first time attending this event with a room full of strangers, although most came across with a decent vibe, but still one should have the right to keep one’s belongings within sight. And when it’s time to share, attendees should be able to share at their own seat instead of being ushered to the middle and in front of the camera for organizer’s social media purpose. Formality and rigidity may overshadow and even silence the willing voice of participants!

They provide easy to follow instructions for Seated Meditation (Zazen) and have discussions about Zen history and philosophy. The people are very accepting of people regardless of their background. They are very hospitable.

Hello from New York! I live in the wrong timezone for enjoying the center either in person or via zoom however I cant speak highly enough about the quality of the podcasts that they put out. They have created a large archive of knowledge that is insightful, informative, and humorous; and its delivered in a very direct and straightforward way by a rotating pool of talented speakers. I look forward to every new episode and highly recommend it.
