About Las Positas Golf Course
Las Positas Golf Course is a local golf destination that offers a mixed experience. The course layout is described as great, with a lot of fun holes. Located next to the executive airport in Livermore off Airport Blvd, it has a huge parking lot. The driving range has real grass and fake grass mats. They also have a restaurant Beebs, a sports bar and grill that serves alcohol and bar food. The golf shop is all the way on the left when you first pull into the parking area. The course is still recommended, with friendly staff and a decent overall condition, making it a viable option for golfers in the area.
Played par 3 course this morning, greens are great, although I had to fix at least 10 ball marks per hole, as I am guessing a lot of newbie golfers are unaware of how to fix their ball marks. Love to be able to play 9 holes if crowded in about 1 1/2 hours, and if not crowded less than an hour. Thanks Las Po
In a tournament here on July 4th. Greens in pretty good condition. Lots of standing water and mud in the fairways. Why? It's as if you're being penalized because you hit your drive right down the middle of the fairway but into a 20' X 40' swamp. And it's not just on 2 or 3 holes. It's like that on almost every hole! Beautiful, sunny and relatively windless day until the afternoon. It's like playing winter rules in the middle of Summer?
Definitely a little rough around the edges but they are working on some improvements. Relatively affordable for 18 and a mix of challenging holes. Teen boxes are ok and greens were in great shape. Finding your ball if you're not on the fairway was tricky at times. The rough is definitely rougher than many places I've played. Overall...Makes for a fun day out as long as you temper your expectations (It's not Pebble Beach).
