“If I could give Doctor MacDougall 100 stars I would. I have been dealing with a skin problem on my hands for over 5 years. I have gone to at least 6 doctors and NONE of them helped me solve my problem. My hands would crack, bleed and flake and suffered with this for years, it was embarrassing handing money to cashiers. I finally went to Dr. MacDougall in Manhattan Beach and after two different creams Dr. MacDougall had one more magic trick in his arsenal AND that finally did the trick, I was cured AFTER JUST TWO WEEKS!!!! It was an expensive cream that he had to get approval from my insurance company, but he was eagerly willing to do the paperwork to help me. I cannot praise him more highly; my skin irritation has not returned and it has been about 3-4 weeks. HALLULAH My husband is a patient of Dr. MacDougall too and he also has high praises for him. It takes a while to get an appointment BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. HE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I don't want to mention the creams because I don't want people going there to ask for this cream, if it is not right for you, I sure worked for me.“

“Seriously recommend Dr. Wickwire! I had what turned out to be a comedone millia on my face, and when I came in for my appointment (which was wicked easy to make) He looked at it, told me my options, and within 5 minutes he had me in the chair ready to remove the cyst from my face. He explained everything, including why I was unsuccessful when I tried to remove it myself. After another 5 minutes, I had a Band-Aid covering the incision (which he cauterized) and was on my way. It was painless, and It is healing nicely. He even gave me directions to the closest metro stop so I could get to work. I will be returning to Doctor Wickwire for any future dermatology needs!“

“I rarely write reviews but I compelled to write about my experience at Ava MD. The last few months have been life changing for me as I have had to relocate due to the Palisade's fire. So naturally I have been feeling of my comfort zone for the last 5 months. But coming into the office felt like a warm hug that I have not experienced in a long time at a doctor's office. The front desk, especially Heidi, was extremely efficient, warm and knowledgeable and I could tell that she takes pride in giving all of her patients her time and a listening ear. The parking lot can sometimes be stressful so I recommend parking in lower level. Also Kellie is the best esthetician highly recommend booking an appointment with her if you want life-changing results“

“I've been a patient of Dr. Chuang since my teenage years for acne and facial redness. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience with him over the three years I've been visiting his office. While he is very knowledgeable in diagnosing conditions and is great at explaining complicated concepts using analogies that can be understood by the average layperson, he is overly conservative (careful) in providing treatment, at least with energy-based devices (laser). If you choose to do any cosmetic laser treatment with him, you will probably need more than the 4-6 recommended sessions, and still, you may not see the end result you want. That being said, I have not had a single complication with treatment over the ~10 times I've done laser with him. The first 3 or so sessions showed very minimal improvement (if any) before he turned up the settings a bit, but they are still not on par (as strong) with clinical studies. He is risk-averse, so you may need to purchase more sessions ($$$), but you won't ever have to worry about laser burns or any other complications. Additionally, I would say his prices for cosmetic treatments are reasonable. I've called and been to several other dermatology offices for similar skin-related concerns, and they all charge a cosmetic consult fee ranging from $60-600, with the median being $150. Dr. Chuang never charged me a cosmetic consult fee, which seems to be standard practice now to lock patients into doing treatment/buying packages with one provider. His laser prices are around the market price, so he isn't undercharging or overcharging significantly. Overall, I am satisfied that I chose Dr. Chuang for my dermatology needs, including cosmetic laser treatments and Accutane. I recognize that I may not have expressed my gratitude early on when I visited his office, especially as a teenager who was insecure about my appearance, but I am very grateful to him for getting my skin to its state today. He has a great bedside manner, is kind, and is a responsible physician. Even with my complaint about his careful modality when it comes to laser, I would recommend him to any patient.“
