Walker Street Dog & Cat Hospital is a veterinarian hospital where the staff is professional, helpful, and very nice. The doctor explains everything thoroughly and in detail, taking time to sit with clients. Care is comprehensive, including exams, food, meds, bloodwork, and advice. However, prices are a lot higher and very expensive compared to regular vets. Costs for procedures like dental surgery are very expensive. While the high costs prevent some from continuing visits, the medical skill and education are not doubted. Pets receive good care and return home fine and happy.
I took my dog here only because it was listed under my pet insurance. When I took her in for flea meds, I was given a year supply which expired a few months after it was given to me.
Then I took her back in after she had an allergic reaction to something. I was given meds that I later found online $100 cheaper. I also had all her vaccines updated. He charged $40 to dispose of the needles and $15 for the rabies cert, something I was never charged for before at my old vets.
In my opinion, with as much as he was over charging me, I may as well go back to my regular vet and not use the insurance. I will not go back to him again.
My HunnyBunnyYorkie was feeling sick, and my regular vet was not available, so on Tues, I took her to see Dr. Lee at Walker Street Animal Hospital. This is a veterinarian hospital, so prices are $$$ ALOT HIGHER than my regular vets office. Cost for exam, food, meds, bloodwork, and other add-on charges = $1381.00
He explained everything thoroughly, and I opted for the $$ antibiotics shots to help her feel better sooner. He sent her bloodwork to a lab and sent her home with food, meds, and plenty of advice. 1Dr. Lee called me first thing in the morning with the lab results. WARNING FOR PET PARENTS!!PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS PLACE!!WALKER STREET DOG AND CAT HOSPITAL IN LA PALMA.They don't explain the charges before treatments.I took my dog there because I can't get an appointment from our vet. I thought this would be cheaper than ER.My dog has skin problems and when he tries to shave her under arm my dog moves so he tranquilizes her. He told me to come back after 2 hours. He charged me $85 for staying there for 2 hours. Tranquilizer for $175. The total bill was $797. OMG, everything was more than other vets. I wonder why their parking lot is empty all the time.
