I found San Diego Construction Company at a home show at the convention center in January of this year. They came to my home and gave me an estimate. When I agreed to move forward, they told me the estimate would be 10% more because the fabricator raised his prices. I should have seen this as a red flag. The only time they were responsive to my messages is when they wanted money. I understand all contractors are busy right now but when you're given dates and they don't show up or even call, it made me really nervous. I felt like I was their first customer! Now the stove has been set, and the counter tops are uneven with the stove (by about 1/2"). I've texted the owner and haven't had a response. They were paid in full after install.

After Googling “general contractor,” this business came up listed as nearby to me. I need a small job done to take railing off my front porch, so I called this guy. He answered, was extremely rude, and hung up on me because he didn’t like the job I called about apparently. In his words, “No, no no. He’s my suggestion: call somebody else and stop wasting my time.” Whoah. This is a local business owner? Stay far away from people like this. There are many businesses that actually are basically kind and respectful, but not this one unfortunately. Could’ve just told me that they don’t do projects that size or pointed me in the right direction.
