As a new mother, I struggled with breastfeeding my child and I decided to find a lactation consultant to help. Definitely a good decision! A friend of mine recommended Heather at San Diego Breastfeeding Center and I'm so glad she did. From my first appointment, Heather was so amazing. She listened to my concerns and challenges and we came up with a plan to address everything from latching, soreness, tension in my baby's jaw, bottle feeding techniques, and weight gain. She shared this plan via a web portal, and it was a really helpful reference that included links to articles, videos, and products to try. Each time I left their office, I felt more empowered and knowledgeable about what to do next, which is incredible when you're a new mother trying to figure it all out. Heather went above and beyond and checked in with me between each appointment, and I'm so grateful for her support and help with my journey. If you're having any challenges with breastfeeding, I highly recommend checking out San Diego Breastfeeding Center!

I have been meaning to write this review for awhile. I can't thank Vicky and Robin enough for all the help they provided me during the beginning of my breastfeeding journey. My son was born premature and was in the nicu for a month. When he got home, I really wanted to breastfeed. Vicky was initially the one that helped me and we eventually found out my son's tongue and lip tie needed to be revised. She never was pushy about getting the procedure done and actually tried working with me for many weeks until we ended up deciding together that would be the best next step. I'm so happy I had Vicky to come see after the procedure and she was able to help me understand the exercises after a tongue tie revision. They also gave me referrals for a CST that helped with my son's tension in his body. Eventually I started seeing the owner, Robin. And she was AMAZING. She helped me with my diet since my son had a cows milk protein allergy. She never was judgy about my diet and truly tried working with me on what I wanted to eat and gave me options. Robin and Vicky messaged me even to check in and see how things were doing. The care was so individualized. After working with Robin and Vicky, I was able to start pretty much exclusively breastfeeding and only had to pump 1-2 times a day which was drastically different than when my son was in the nicu and I only was able to breastfeed 1-2 feeds a day. I'm so happy and grateful for their help during postpartum. They also just care about you as a person and want to help you in anyway they can. I recommend the SDBC to everyone now who's looking for help with pumping, breastfeeding, etc! Thank you Robin and Vicky!!
