I only had KEYPORT keys cut here, but finding a locksmith willing to 1) let you bring your own blanks, and 2) will cut KEYPORT BLADES (blank keys with a special head so they fit inside a KEYPORT) is apparently rare. I spent less time there than I did writing this review, they were courteous, the cost was extremely reasonable, and the keys were cut very cleanly and take no effort to turn. I'm mentioning KEYPORT BLADES so often so hopefully other San Diegans can find this if they're looking for a place to have their blades cut.

Friendly service and price. I needed a Toyota Prius key made and they didn't have it stock so it had to be special ordered, but I got a call the next day it was in. I came in and they programed the key and cut the blade key as well. That took a few tries to cut the blade key, but they kept at it till it was done. Save yourself from dealership costs and come here for your key.

Kim was super helpful today (9-9-2023) when I needed a copy of a house key. I told him that I used to know the former owner, Bill, and Kim said the business had been abandoned when Kim took it over. I said that I believe Bill died in that year when Kim stepped in, and Bill's daughter didn't have much of an interest in the business but I don't know what happened from there. I'm glad Kim has this business! Kim is local and friendly and excellent at what he does! I got my extra key made in less than a minute's time, and had a lovely conversation with Kim as well. Hooray for Kwik Key & Kim!
