I have received care at several healthcare systems, including Kaiser and Scripps, but UCSD has been the place where I felt the most kindness, compassion, and genuine understanding as a patient. I truly wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude.

I've had so many procedures, surgeries, and miscellaneous health issues and doctors/specialists/surgeons over the last 14 years, I've lost track of many - the price for living life like it's your last day for 60+ years.
There's a short list of professionals who have stood out during that time, and DR HIRASE represents the pinnacle of that short list. He is the ultimate example of how a superb and peerless medical professional should operate (no pun intended). I’m having an overall positive experience at the KOP Breast Health and Infusion Center with the exception of an encounter that has since improved. My Doctors in Oncology are wonderful and very thorough; thus far they have been very responsive and helpful for any and all questions. Julie, RN is wonderful in communication. Olivia, Kevin, Shoku, and Stephanie have been amazing infusion nurses.
However, some not all, of the Front Desk Staff are absolutely lacking in quality care. Nohemi (scheduler) refuses to assist and always have a less than pleasant attitude (for some patients of course). Scheduling appointments have been by far my greatest challenge.
