We had the exterior of our house painted and we are happy with how it turned out. It looks completely different and in a great way! Mark was very helpful and gave us a good quote. He scheduled us in and everything was on time from start to finish. Mark had an excellent crew, lead by Jacob, that painted our house. They were very nice, professional, and accommodating. We enjoyed working with Mark and would definitely use Mister paint again.

This company was unfortunately recommended by Sherwin-Williams in Fremont. Brandon Rice (the foreman and Mark's son) seemed initially professional, but it did not stay that way after his father Mark Rice had an emotional tantrum while speaking with my manager. I made specific requests which included heavy dent repair and we informed Brandon on day one that we wanted a paint company that cared about details so our community would look better. Brandon promised both a competitive price and solid work. His price came in much higher than I would have expected -- I actually didn't think it was competitive (vendors know to upcharge HOAs), but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try them out one time. Mister Paint gave us their worst painters. They were sloppy with their work, and Mark made an excuse (lying) that any paint drips we saw was ALL old paint and someone else's work -- but I could clearly see a lot of new paint drips from the workers -- and the proof was also it was pretty easy to wipe/pick off. They duct taped caution tape to the walls as well, and they forgot to take it off in several places for over 1 week until my manager had to prompt them -- this was the first time my manager told me that Mark answered emotionally and defensively. The painters left their trash at the end of every day on each level -- everything from empty water bottles and paint debris and other trash I couldn't recognize. They completely forgot to do dent repair, and Brandon decided to only tell his workers to do eye-level dent repair, but they forgot to do this in 2 of the 4 stairwells anyway. They also forgot to paint 3 doors.I gave them instructions to use leftover Sherwin-Williams paint that our previous vendor (a construction company) left, and also gave the instruction of accessing our Sherwin-Williams account so they would have the exact community colors in case they ran out of paint. Brandon failed to inform me until after the work was done that they decided to try to color match the doors since they couldn't find the paint for that.... The color looks way off and we had plenty of door paint they could have used.I had to prompt them again for being sloppy about paint work and forgetting to fill dents in one stairwell and this is when Brandon became rude, his father continued to deny that the sloppy work was theirs despite them using an obviously different door color that dripped, and Brandon barely did any work to fix the wall dents in the last stairwell -- he even left one patched area unpainted. Despite Brandon only coming to the property twice to check the work, he made a big deal that he would never visit again at his second visit and both he and his father only cared about demanding to get their $11,500 payment, which we paid promptly just to move on (my manager informed MisterPaint it would take about 10 business days to receive through the invoice process).I hope they don't swindle anyone else with their false promises and Mark's scary temper. If you don't want your home to end up looking like a slum house, I don't recommend hiring them. The best way for you to vote is with your dollar -- support a better vendor that delivers.Update: Beware this vendor tries to get his negative reviews removed. Looks like he buys reviews. In Mark's immature and delusional response, he lies about a number of things, and I had already informed my manager in writing (date stamped in email) that we would not do any more business with MisterPaint. There was definitely no continued interest in working with this dishonest and temperamental unprofessional paint company, but it says a lot that Mark is trying to flip the script here and lie that we want more future work with them. Be careful with this company. You should be able to find a quality painter in the Bay Area. We have been able to point out small issues to other vendors which they would fix promptly without issues, and we continue to have a healthy working relationship with those vendors. I've hired painters in the past, but none compared to Brandon's team. The quality is just outstanding!
