The Right Place For Finding The Right Pros Near You!
Osmosis is tucked away in the adorable little town of Freestone--home to Wild Flour Bakery (a must for bread and scones!) and a cute shop with jewelry, leather goods, and art. It's about a 20-minute drive from both Sebastopol and Bodega Bay, making it the perfect addition to a weekend away or a peaceful day trip. We booked the Warmth of Love for Two, which included a Cedar Enzyme Bath for two, followed by transformative 70-minute Swedish-Esalen massages in a couple's room. The whole experience was just under three hours and felt incredibly intentional and restorative. The flow of the visit was well thought out: Locker Room: You start by changing into robes and are provided lockers for all your stuff. We had the space to ourselves and were told we could lock the doors, so the privacy was nice. Tea Service: Our attendant then led us to an indoor/outdoor zen-style room to enjoy tea while she prepped the cedar bath. Cedar Enzyme Bath: I wasn't sure what to expect, since I've tried mud baths before and didn't love them--but this was completely different! The staff creates two cozy "nests" in the warm cedar. You lie down, cover yourself lightly (you're naked so they exit the room for this portion and then return), they cover the rest, and even carve out a little pillow space. (Ladies, they provide a hair net--trust me, use it, it makes clean-up easier!) It gets hot, but they cool you with a refreshing towel for your forehead and bring water with a straw while you're covered. I also kept my hands and feet out for extra breathability. After about 20-30 minutes, you rinse off in a private shower nearby. It took a little work to get fully de-cedared, but my body felt so relaxed afterwards--perfect prep for the massage. Massage: My therapist checked in often about pressure and focused exactly where I asked. My partner and I both left feeling grounded and renewed. Afterward, you return to the locker room to change and check out. Tipping is easy--cash or card. Don't forget you're tipping your cedar bath attendant plus your 2 massage therapists for this package. There's also a small gift shop in the reception area. The appointment process isn't online, so it's bit clunky, you fill out a form then they email you back an option then you confirm, not instant but it doesn't take too long. Don't miss the Zen Garden! It's a peaceful, beautifully landscaped space where you can wander quietly and extend the calm. Parking is simple with their private lot. All in all, Osmosis offers a unique, deeply restorative experience you won't find elsewhere. The Cedar Enzyme Bath alone was worth it--but paired with the massage, tea, and garden, it's an unforgettable splurge that's worth it.
