I hired John of Bennett Building to do two jobs for me, neither of which was finished. I told John in the beginning that we needed two skylight shafts insulated and three broken collar ties replaced, and I sent him photos of all. The cracked collar ties had been flagged and photographed first by a home inspector and then by a structural engineer, requiring that we have them replaced in order to sell our house. After his younger brother had done the work, I went into the attic to check it.
