“Our AC stopped working; therefore, I called a big box company to send their tech to check our unit. That company was pushing for a full replacement and estimated $6,000 at minimum to get the unit running. They said the condenser, evaporator coils, circuit board, and transformer needed to be replaced and the cost did not cover freon.
Something felt off and a friend of mine gave the number to Fire & Ice Heating and Air Conditioning. Mr. Paletta answered my call and I was upfront with the other company’s findings.
Mr. Paletta showed up on time and immediately began his inspection. He found that the circuit board wasn’t fried, a couple of fuses were in the wrong slots. The transformer was blown and that needed replacement. He also added a mechanism to shut off the system should an overflow pan fill up with water. This will prevent water damage from overflowing onto our ceiling.
Upon inspecting our filter, he determined the unit was not getting enough air flow. The capacitor had also been damaged despite being newly installed. Lastly, Mr. Paletta checked the freon levels and confirmed there is no leak.
Overall my experience with Fire & Ice Heating and Air Conditioning was exceptional. Mr. Paletta answered all of my questions and provided maintenance recommendations. We are now happily enjoying a cool, crisp temperature inside our home once again.
Already recommended this company to my family and friends. He will be servicing my mother’s AC this Friday.
