The best moments in a memorial service are the short talks—when someone captures a telling detail that brings a lifetime to life. These gatherings pull together people who haven’t seen each other in years, but that doesn’t mean they leave any closer. And that’s fine—rituals stage a performance that lets us believe we’ll reconnect, if only by showing up in front of everyone. That’s not so bad. Btw, as you pull into the driveway, the place has the look of a theme park.
Carlos was extraordinary as a funeral director for my family. Explains everything clearly and handles everything with care. In terms of venue capacity, the chapel and outside patio were sufficient for our needs. I had never been to Woodlawn prior to this, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for options.
