The community here is one of a kind. high level teaching combined with mentorship and a focus on developing a person in every way possible. They teach for the love of the sport, not for money, they donate their wisdom, time, and money to better everybody that walks through their doors.
I’m a student at CSU Chico and I come here whenever my schedule lets me, and honestly it’s been super helpful. The mats have really good cushion, so practicing falls and rolls actually feels safe. Everyone here is chill and helps each other out, no ego or weird vibes. I get to work on my Yawara techniques and clean up my basics, and the instructors make it easy to follow. Overall, it’s a solid place to train, especially if you’re trying to learn legit technique in a friendly environment.
My 9 yr old son has been coming for a little over 6 months and it has been fantastic. The instruction content is very high. It shows in how all the kids in class behave, and I see the building blocks of great community. I pass this parenting hack to anyone interested.
