Jeff Ratchford just replaced our 47 year old tile roof. We had leaks during the storms and Jeff responded quickly to our call for an estimate. Our old roof was solid but didn’t have any underlayment and the original paper had disintegrated. Jeff went over our options with us and we decided to do a full replacement with new tiles. Jeff’s bid was very reasonable. He and his team did a great job and repaired dry rotted areas as well. The area was cleaned up after the job and we are very pleased with the new roof. Jeff also replaces siding and we will definitely be calling him when we are ready for that project.
This past Thanksgiving, we discovered water that had accumulated on a shelf in the garage during a storm. After investigating in the attic, we suspected that the water was coming from a leak in the roof valley above, as there was a lot of leaf accumulation. We contacted a few roofing companies, but Jeff was the only one that could come out the following day. Upon removing the concrete tiles in the roof valley, dry rot was discovered, causing the leak. Jeff was able to replace the dry rot with new plywood and seal it up before another rain event was scheduled later that evening! Jeff and his crew did a really solid job on our roof. We had some dry rot on the barge rafters, needed new gutters, valley repairs, tile work, and we decided to upgrade our old skylight to a Velux unit with solar blinds while everything was opened up.
Jeff was easy to work with and communicated well throughout the project. He explained what they found once they got into the roof and sent photos so we could see what was going on. Scheduling was clear, and there weren’t any surprises.
His main worker worked hard the whole time and paid attention to the details. The skylight install and tile work look clean, and they left everything tidy when they were done.
