Came to Carmel for my anniversary with my boyfriend and we were so excited to go to Refuge. We both got a day pass. I believe we were some of the first people there a bit after 9 am. It started off great! For a while we got a few pools to ourselves all in the warm setting. We got into the steam room and I loved the eucalyptus one!! I really enjoyed the services and the massage at the refuge spa. I got a 1pm massage and was advised to get there an hour early and then stay as long as I like afterwards. That was the perfect amount of time to read, relax, and cycle through the services before my massage. I like that there is just two massage options. It’s simple and the masseuse I had asked me about my needs and what I was looking for. She really heard what I needed and it was a perfect combo of Swedish with decent pressure. I felt the most relaxed I’ve felt at a spa and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. No photos as it is a tech free zone.

My wife and I visited the refuge twice on our vist from Austin, Texas this past summer. We had a relaxing and great time while enjoying our couples massages, and using the out door spa. Would highly reccomend for anyone trying to relax and re-charge. We had one minor thing come up, but Justin ( The manager) went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch.
