Dr. Melo is by far one the best physicians I have had the pleasure of meeting and being a patient of. She is always very thorough in her explanations and never leads with pharmaceutical prescriptions. I am extremely happy to be a patient and so is my infant son!

Dr. Melo is an excellent doctor. I can't believe there are bad reviews here. I'm shocked. I found this Yelp because I was googling Dr. Melo, hoping I could figure out where she went and follow her, as she left One Medical. So the addiction lady review below - that's nuts, of course your husband would need to go to the doctor himself and not have his wife's doctor prescribe things without seeing him. Ear woman, better safe than sorry. It's better to be scared than to end up in really big trouble. Instead of being grateful you're healthy, you're angry that you were referred to a specialist? I have had some serious health situations this last year and I am deeply sad that I won't have Dr. Melo as my primary doctor anymore. She is wonderful, smart, caring, not afraid to connect patients to specialists. I found her to be the best doctor I have had and really am so disturbed by these other posts. Dr. Melo, if you read this, I bet I'm not the only patient that will be looking for where you went. Thank you for your excellent care the last couple years.

I saw Dr. Melo for an acute illness two years ago. It wasn't a question of choosing a doctor at this point: I needed a primary quickly. I have had professional and personal experience with One Medical [as a case manager nurse at UCSF and as my husband's primary care] and like their professionalism and efficiency. Dr. Melo had the first available appointment and I took it not knowing anything about her. As a nurse with 40 years experience, I had little expectation. Most docs are fine. However, Dr. Melo is quite superior not only as a physician but as a person. She saw me through a terrifying illness and hospitalization with compassion and expertise. Although I am a nurse, I never felt like she was glossing over information because she thought I already knew it. I was treated as a patient first and foremost. Her Cow Hollow office staff is wonderful. They have a great communication network.
