I've owned spas, and have been in the beauty and personal care business for decades. I've interviewed, had a lot of massages and been to a lot of spas. I can say that Tomoko spa is one of the best spas I've been to. Very clean. Extraordinary service. Excellent massage techniques. You need pampering? If you can afford it, Tomoko is a great place to do that.

A restorative experience at Tomoko! Had an enjoyable couples massage. The spa lacks amenities like a sauna, water treatments, etc. but still has a calming atmosphere that feels like a far away destination. The treatment room was serene and spacious. What I liked was built in time before and after the service to relax in the treatment room. It was nice to not feel rushed into leaving. Our massages were very good (and I’m picky. I prefer a chiro massage over most day spas. I want someone to really work on me and not just rub lotion on my back). My therapist understood the assignment and got after it. As expected, this is probably one of, if not the best Japanese spa in Los Angeles. I just wish they were transparent on their website about their sushi - it's Sugar Fish. Nothing wrong with that, I just think it's deceptive not to include that information up front, especially since the cost is in the four digits for 3 hours of service.
