Takako is amazing!!! If you are considering getting a Japanese hair straightening perm you should really consider going to her. Seriously.. don't knock her just because she doesn't have 200+ reviews. She's a one woman operation with many years of experience. I love how my treatment turned out. I'm obsessed!! I was pretty concerned my hair wouldn't react well to the activator and she very carefully examined my very thin and fragile hair to make sure I had no breakage. The whole process for me took about three hours, but it all depends on your hair type and length. My new hair has given me so much confidence! I used to spend so much time on it and now I spend about two minutes and the frizz is completely gone :)) I love it sooo much. Takako, you are truly a master at your craft! Thanks again, you have saved me from dealing with bad hair days ever again.

If I could ten stars, I would. My whole life, I've had incredibly thick, coarse, wiry, voluminous hair, even though I'm Asian. I would always look longingly at my other Asian friends' hair in high school. At this point, I've been Japanese straightening for about twenty years, from NYC to SF to Boston to here. I just switched from a high end salon in Beverly Hills to Takako, and I couldn't be happier! She charges such a reasonable price, and my hair comes out smoother, healthier than I've ever seen it in a long time. Takako is an angel - very accommodating to my hectic mom-to-two schedule, does detailed work, and sweet to chat with. Her salon is pretty straightforward - no fancy drinks or posh feels, but I LOVE IT. It's real. Very laid-back. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants gorgeous straight hair.

This woman saved me money, time, and heartache. I am so thankful to have found this truly beautiful and skilled human! I went into her chair hoping my hair wouldn't break off anymore than it did since the last two stylists botched my hair. She mowed through my hair with EASE even with all the breakage and messsssss! My natural hair is Kinky 3c-4a and fine which I didn't even know til she told me. I explained to her all my worries and she too was as sad as I was about the CHUNKS of hair the other stylists burned right out of my head! I was reluctant to write this review til I knew for sure my hair wasn't going to fall out! Welp! I'd like to say that it's been a solid 3 months since my treatment with Takako and no new breakage! I finally found a master at her craft! I wish I would have found her a year ago but now I can grow my hair back to the thickness I had while enjoying straight shiny smooth hair without breakage! Her services are also a lot more affordable than the 6-700 dollar range I was paying for others to ruin my hair. She will be my forever stylist bc I can't live without JHS
