As a student-athlete at UC Berkeley, finding quality medical care that aligns with the demands of competitive sports is crucial. I initially visited Dr. Anas Hanna for a routine physical required for joining the UC Berkeley fencing team. Proceed with caution if you are overweight, or have complex symptoms and are looking for a diagnosis. My first appointment seemed great. He listened intently and took notes and sent me for blood tests. However, the second appointment was awful. Dr. Hana seemed uninterested in putting in any effort to help me. He clearly had no clue what was wrong with me (and didn't put much effort in finding out other than some labs). So he resorted to blaming my weight. The thing is, every single one of my problems was there before I gained this weight, and most are not at all related to it (hives, immune dysfunction, etc).
