Benicia Home Improvement Center (BHIC) recently completed a fairly extensive remodel of two bathrooms and a laundry room. The quality of the work performed was excellent. The workers who performed the work were both very skilled and also very nice and accommodating of us as the project progressed. We were especially impressed by the company's ready agreement to return after the project was finished to re-do without any hesitation one cabinet area which we were not happy with, and to address a couple of plumbing issues which needed attention. We did have one fairly minor issue which we have talked with Jeff, the owner, about. There were times when the communication from BHIC to us about next steps and the project's timetable was not what we would expect. When we called, we always got the information we needed, but we would have preferred more pro-active communication. In any case, we have no regrets about contracting with BHIC and we highly recommend them for any home projects. The quality of the work cannot be beat, and the pricing is very reasonable.
So, my first week of Summer vacation hasn't been exactly what I had planned... Coming home from a great 60th birthday getaway, my husband called to say we had a little problem with a water pipe breaking in the slab concrete underneath our kitchen. He was (and had been) living with no running water and we were awaiting repairs. So, to make a very long story short... about 7,500 dollars later and 18 very large holes cut into my walls, as well as flooring and water heater repairs (because the water was off so long) we are slowly getting back to normal. I want to thank BENICIA HOME IMPROVEMENT for their incredibly quick response in getting me an estimate, and their drywall people (G+D drywall) for doing the most amazing repairs I have ever seen, with absolutely ZERO mess!! I couldn't reccomend anyone more than these two companies. Benicia Plumbing was also a huge help in the pipe repairs, even though unfortunately they had to cut so many holes as there are no plumbing details on blueprints. Albertson's carpet will be doing my flooring repairs next week, followed by a full carpet cleaning. And I have to also thank Farmer's insurance. They covered EVERYTHING, minus my deductible and have already paid the claim in full!! I feel like I could find a new career in being a Contractor and running repair jobs after these last two weeks, but I want to say these local businesses really were fabulous. I am so grateful for their quick and exceptional service.
