About Phillips Eye Center

Phillips Eye Center is a highly recommended practice known for its successful cataract surgeries and attentive care. Patients praise the center for the thorough and professional approach of Dr. Phillips, who works efficiently to deliver excellent results. Many note that the surgery, including PanOptix Lens implantation, greatly improves vision at all distances, making daily activities like reading and outdoor walks much easier. Patients often experience nearly perfect vision shortly after surgery and appreciate the staff's dedication to achieving the best outcomes. The surgical coordinator is commended for providing clear explanations of procedures and options, helping patients feel informed and comfortable. However, some reviews mention areas for improvement. There are concerns about staff communication, especially regarding appointment details and the roles of different eye care professionals. One patient expressed frustration over not being informed that they would be seeing an optometrist instead of Dr. Phillips for a particular exam, which affected their expectations and trust. Additionally, patients advise bringing a driver after eye dilation, as vision can be blurry for several hours. Overall, Phillips Eye Center is viewed as a caring and professional facility with a strong focus on patient results, despite some minor communication issues.

My cataract surgery was a huge success! I received the PanOptix Lens surgery that not only allows me to see at a distance, but also up close in detail. I can easily see far away, at arm’s length, and up close! It was worth the financial investment as someone who likes to read and take nature walks. I highly recommend the Phillips Eye Center! My surgical coordinator, Noelle, gave me a simple rundown of the procedures that are offered and how it all works. Please go here if you want honest professionals that only desire the best for you.

Deciding when to have cataract surgery is stressful for sure. A friend recommended Dr. Phillips to me. I'm so glad I made that decision. Dr. Phillips is very thorough with his exam. The surgery experience was better then I thought it would be. I was impressed with the staff at the surgical center and amazed at how quickly and efficiently Dr. Phillips worked to remove my cataract. My vision was nearly perfect the first day after surgery. I feel he really cares about his patients and works with the patient to get the best results. Thank you Dr. Phillips and staff.

I love this doctor, but sometimes the staff leaves a little to be desired and, have left me with a feeling of frustration more than once. On my first visit I received an eyeglass prescription that I never felt was quite right when filled. I just couldn't see quite as well as I felt I should, or as well as I could with my old glasses. Later after seeing another optometrist I found out that the prescription was a little stronger than I needed. Once the prescription was corrected, I could actually see a little better. More recently, I called for an appointment with my Ophthalmologist because of concerns of a detached retina (having flashes and floaters in my eye). Thinking I'd made an appointment with Dr. Phillips, a girl comes in to the exam room, puts drops in my eyes and said to wait in the reception area for about 20 minutes while the drops worked. She didn't introduce herself, so I'd just assumed it was one of his medical assistants, as I'd seen prior to seeing him in the past. After returning to the exam room and about 10 minutes into her running some tests, I'd asked her if I was going to see the doctor too, and she replied" I AM the Doctor." I replied back "Oh I didn't know he got another Ophthalmologist in here. I thought I was seeing Dr. Phillips," adding that the girl that scheduled me didn't say anything. It was then she told me she isn't the ophthalmologist, she's an optometrist but that they do the same examination, adding that the doctor was in surgery today. I replied "Oh I didn't know any of that," again adding the girl that scheduled me didn't mention anything.I guess my point is I would have definitely appreciated it if the person scheduling me (Sherry?) would have let me know that I wasn't seeing Dr. Phillips or another ophthalmologist, and given me the option to see an optometrist instead. Personally, given my symptoms I really feel like an Ophthalmology specialist appointment was warranted, or at minimum I should have been given a informed choice. Addendum: For anyone else getting their eyes dilated I would recommend bringing a driver. Even though I waited awhile in my car afterwards, It took a few hours before I could see clearly again and for my eyes to not be dilated anymore. Hence, driving home and trying to see was awful.
