I have thick, wavy hair in a short, pixie-inspired cut — it requires technique and artistry to maintain well, and it’s easy to go awry. Sondra won me over several years ago. I get an excellent cut every time and now that I’ve moved out of the neighborhood I come back to Grove and Sondra. The working culture and environment is intentional and healthy, which contributes to me feeling well taken care of by the whole salon.

This review is long over due! I've been coming to Grove Salon for almost a year now. The front staff are friendly, welcoming, and super helpful when it comes to scheduling appointments. They make scheduling so easy. I love the entire layout and aesthetic of the salon! Definitely a plus. Lastly, I'd like to give my kudos to my hair stylist, Celine. It's always a pleasure having my hair done by her - she is personable, detailed, and is willing to answer any and all questions. She's also attentive to the needs of my hair health and works with me to keep my hair looking the best. The salon is located near downtown Albany. I've been holding off getting my hair done for almost 2 years. 1. Because there are stylists I've gone to that don't listen to exactly what I want. 2. Cut off more then what I asked for. 3. Over processed my hair and fried it to a crisp! Etc. I finally worked up the courage to find a new stylist and I'm so glad I found Celine. She does a darn good job and actually listens and asks to make changes every step of the way! Will be seeing her again!
