I have been going to these guys for 20 years. Always such a good experience. Today I had my 100 year old front door mortise lock so common here in Alameda and it has given me and my family fits for years. Admittedly my bad. I finally took it on. I removed the lock and took it to Alameda Repair Shop. Joe was able to patiently diagnose and fix the issue. So no more family getting locked out late at night! They also have the odd keys that other shops do not have. Added plusses are the Sandwich Board is next door and Alameda Taqueria is just across Park Street.

After repeated attempts to use those self serve kiosks that have never produced a useable key for me, I found Alameda Repair Shop. Old school shop that cuts keys by hand for reasonable prices. Owner is a bit gruff but knows his stuff!

I’ve been going here for years to have keys made. They are far superior to any you can have Home Depot made.
The owner is not in great health and has been slowing down. Please take care as he might take a bit longer than previously but will open up if you call.
