This place is horrible. Hark the owner is the rudest most unprofessional person in this industry. She’s a scam artist. Don’t waste your money here.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The owner Hark is absolutely insane and completely rude to her staff and clients. Horrible business ethics. She’s incredibly shady with her promotions and general services. The treatments offered are not even close to the standards at a well established medical spa. The staff is at a constant turnover due to poor management. Avoid this place and go to a reputable spa.

I have never experienced unprofessionalism to the level of South Granville Laser. After purchasing a package for more than 1000$ at my first treatment, I arrived early for my second treatment, which was not able to be completed because the technician "had somewhere to be". I rescheduled my appointment after that and TWO TIMES IN A ROW, was called less than 2 hours prior to my appointment to say that it had to be canceled. After the first late cancelation, the owner offered to do my treatment herself, and them "accidentally" scheduled me with someone else, who again canceled on me 2 hours before my appointment. I was entirely polite and very forgiving (possibly my mistake!) and was not offered any compensation for late cancelation. These appointments take several hours and I lost two half days of work following these late cancelations. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Do not get a facial peel from this establishment! They burned my skin with a poorly neutralized glycolic peel. I went home to progressively burning skin. Then I googled how to neutralize glycolic acid and did it myself. My whole left cheek had first degree burns according to my doctor who I saw the next day. The aesthetician said it was a very mild formula but it turned out to be 30% acid (multiple acids). I told her my skin was very sensitive yet she didn't do a trial first. And she didn't cover my eyes. I was thinking one could get it in their eyes and lose vision! I'm very unhappy about the level of service here for facials.

A great place for laser hair removal and electrolysis! I wanted to write a review a very long time ago, but never got around to it, so here is my story now...Approximately 7 years ago, I was searching for knowledgeable and friendly staff to help rid me of unwanted body hair. I took this very seriously since it involved my skin and was a lot of money for me to spend on something that wasn't a necessity. I searched around and narrowed it down to a handful. After meeting with South Granville Laser, I felt so much more informed of my options and found the staff to be very easy going and genuine in their manner. In the end, it was an easy choice and I ended up choosing them and coming in for the appointments spread out over one year until all the hair on my legs, armpits and bikini area were gone. I believe it was 8 sessions. They were obviously very experienced and professional the entire time and I was grateful to have chosen them. All these years later, the hair has not returned :-) Every once in a while I will notice a random, very light, very thin hair appear, however it is so minimal that I barely make the effort to pluck it out as soon as I see it. haha. Recently, my husband decided to get his back done and of course, I took him to South Granville for a consultation. Can you believe it? The staff remembered me! haha! He liked what he heard, but still he wanted to shop around himself. In the end, their great attitude and extensive experience won him over too. He has given me positive feedback since he started his sessions and I know he is happy with his choice. The last of my review involves the electrolysis on my chin that I chose to do this year. I guess they were bound to show up sooner or later. grrrr. :-P I went in for a consultation in trying to determine if laser hair removal or electrolysis would be the best option for me. Since my chin hairs were coming in very light in colour, electrolysis was the best option. Plus it was so inexpensive! The technician who did the work on me turned out to have decades of experience and was very friendly. So far so good with the procedure. All in all, I have never had any issues of any kind with this company and have always left either laughing or with a smile on my face. A great place to feel at ease and take care of unwanted hairs!

From the Okanagan and booked my 3d ultrasound at South Granville Laser during my summer holidays since they took over Som Visao. When the technician brought us in the screen didn't work and was not able to view any images. She took so long trying to reboot the machine and fix it which I understood but she took it out of my appt time! So basically we had a 5 minute appt instead of a 15 minute appt. Also I had called in advance to make sure I got 3D images of my baby but then was told AFTER my appt was over that I wasn't far enough along in my pregnancy yet to have any 3D images. Totally mislead and ripped off. Worst service ever! All I was told was that it wasn't their fault as they weren't the ones who booked it originally and don't know what happened. Still was charged FULL price!!! Would not recommend this place to anyone!!

I went to SGL&SC on a recommendation from my sister for spider vein laser treatment. She had great results after one treatment with a second FREE touch-up. My own two legs little creepies were not very dark or too many to count, but I was self conscious of them and decided to give treatment a go. So eight weeks ago, I went sans coupon to have a consultation. At the consult, the technician had a look and said I would likely need one or two 15 minute treatments. When I asked the fee, she told me it was $200 per treatment. I told her I could not afford more than one. She looked at my legs again and said I'd probably be ok with one treatment and a touch-up and that she had time to complete my treatment there and then. Since my sis had such great results and the technician seemed confident, I went for it. The treatment itself was not pleasant, but was bearable. I watched the clock and at 12 minutes she said she was done. I asked her to please do the last little ones in the last remaining area and she agreed. Yay! Done! I paid the full price plus a very generous tip. I followed the post-op directions to a "T" and while the effects were instant on the bed, they did not last. I was told healing could take anywhere from a few days to 6 weeks or so. At 8 weeks, I went back for a follow-up consult, very disappointed indeed. Not only had none of the veins faded, they had actually gotten darker (despite my legs not seeing any sun for the hottest summer in recent memory)! I discussed this with the technician and said I was very unhappy with the results and that I felt I was actually looking WORSE than before the treatment. I also said that I was not getting any younger (I'm 40), and that this being my first treatment, if it went well, I would be back for further treatments. But that if I was unhappy, I certainly would not be back and would not be recommending them. She told me she would touch-up for half price: $100. I reminded her that my sister's touch-ups were done for free (a year prior) and I then asked her if she was aware that a competing salon in Yaletown was offering two treatments for $79 - less than the touch up fee they were wanting me to pay. She asked what I wanted and I said I wanted her to try again for free, that I shouldn't have to pay more when I looked worse. She said she would have to discuss it with her office manager but she would do a trial spot. This was 4 days ago. She called today to say she would continue to do a touch-up treatment at the full price of $100, as per her manager's instructions. I will not be going back to give SGL&SC more of my hard-earned money. It has almost always been my experience that a business tries to do their best to make the customer happy - especially when the service took less than 15 minutes at full price with tip! It would have been easy for them to try again and had it not worked out, then I would have been fine knowing that they tried to fix the poor results. As it is, I will try their competitors and update if I see better results with them! On a side note, the sheets on the bed looked wrinkled on both visits and the glasses were covered with finger prints. I was the first client in on both mornings, so that is disconcerting. The receptionist was very pleasant to deal with.

I had a package of six sessions and before I could book my last session I was going on holiday out of the country. I was told it would be no problem to book upon return, but when I called I was told my package was expired and there was nothing they could do. Further, when I first began attending I was told one of the things that made them stand out was that they always put you with the same person so that you would feel comfortable each time you returned. I did not have the same person twice. Finally, they used too high of a setting which caused some blistering and scarring. Two thumbs down.
