I went to the salon for hair color and cut with the owner Julien. I stated clearly that my main goal was to cover the grey hair but the result turned out very disappointing. The grey hair was not covered at all. Julien said he would waived the cost of the color and I left the salon wasted 3hours. After one week I find out he charged twice the first time he charged color+hair cut and without refund first he charged again for the hair cut.
I have called the salon for couple times and no one pick up the phone. I will keep post if there is any new update

Amazing experience, very professional and honest business. They provided a touch up to rework certain areas

I went to Sejong for a women's haircut with Julien ($80) before my graduation photo session. I had booked this appointment weeks in advance on Fresha, which explicitly stated in the services that it would be around 1-2 hours and include both a hair wash and blow-dry. However, he did NOT wash my hair, went straight into cutting it and attempted to style it with hair oil and a flat iron -- which, you can imagine, fell flat and looked like an oily mess. It should be a common procedure to provide the customer with a hair wash sometime during the appointment; if not, there should have been instructions provided to arrive with hair pre-washed or to charge less if you're going to cheap out on a crucial service. Many other salons offer more affordable services for no hair wash. Incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable, more importantly, I strongly believe that this is how he normally operates when you are only going in for a woman's haircut, and you have long, thick hair.

They don't know how to cut hair even just straight!

I visited the salon twice this year. Once in April with Hana and in August with Ayoung. My first visit with Hana was amazing. I've been looking so long for a hair stylist who can do proper perm with Korean hair. I was happy to find Hana, who cut the hair beautifully and gave me a beautiful perm. Straight perm and a bit of curl at the end.
I had an occasion to do my hair again - needed to straighten the natural curls I get on my new/root hair - but Hana was unavailable. So I booked with Ayoung. She talked a lot throughout the session about how she's a talented professional, but the results didn't quite speak for itself. I already had a good curl at the bottom of the hair from the previous perm so wanted to keep that style, and wanted to let the hair grow long. But she insisted on redoing the perm entirely because it'll look natural. I understood that, it'd be better than just straightening the root hair. But she ended up cutting the length quite short, and didn't make much new curls. When I inquired, she said it's because my hair length (that she cut) wasn't long enough so it'll look weird. But Hana had done the exact same thing last time I visited.

Overall good place but I'd make sure to book with a stylist that you know you'll like. Highly recommend Hana.

Phenomenal attention to detail by hairstylist Ayoung Kim! 😊 She's amazing, and although there was a language barrier, that wasn't a problem at all. I'll definitely be coming back.

Meeting Designer Ayoung was truly the best luck I’ve had in Vancouver! She gave me a perfect short haircut that is easy to style and I love it so much. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

I am a woman but I have a standard men’s haircut. I had been going to this salon since Covid, paying for men’s haircut, but recently they tried to charge me β€œwomen’s haircut” fees.

I asked for 2 to 3 inches off, the salon owner Julien cut off around 7 inches or more. Look at the first photo and the second photo, no one can tell me that’s 3 inches. Also it looks completely different from the inspo pics I showed (image 3).

He also took very little care in blending the layers so they look blunt and disconnected. Image 4 is showering after the haircut. Also, he is very bad at cutting bangs and the result looks nothing like the inspo photo I showed (not pictured here).

Interestingly I went to him twice before this and it was fine, so I genuinely don’t know what happened. This has been a shocking and traumatic experience. 4 inches takes 8 to 9 months to grow back, why do I have to hate my hair for 8 months when I paid $90? By the way I posted this on Reddit and many people said I shouldn’t have paid. Needless to say I will never go back. I cried. I recommend not going unless you don’t mind big surprises.
